Les nombrages des roues -considérées sont choisis de la façon suivante, n désignant le nombre -de tours relatifs de l'arbre et du ba rillet correspondant au développement com plet -du ressort moteur: dans le cas des fig. 1 et 2, à n tours -de la. roue 1 doivent eorrespon- cire (n - env. 0,5) à (n -1) tours de la roue 2;
On a donc:
EMI0003.0031
et l'on voit que si R #-_, _ ri --j- e == r2, COC inaxi @ mi.
Le calcul montre de même que
EMI0003.0040
donc, en diminuant
EMI0003.0041

Clockwork movement, with, mainspring, comprising a mechanism indicating the power reserve. The object of the invention is a clockwork movement, with a mainspring, comprising a mechanism indicating the power reserve, that is to say the. period during which the movement can still walk without being wound up.
The drawing represents, by way of example, various embodiments of the object of the invention.
The figures only represent the device indicating the power reserve. To simplify the explanation, the same figures denote the same bodies everywhere. The indicator organs are designated by, .dial "and" index ", whatever form they take: the dial is the indicating organ bearing figures, the index the other. be, for example, an ordinary needle, an externally controlled needle, an angled needle with the only end visible, a disc pierced with an opening of suitable shape, a disc on which is traced an arrow, a simple plot.
The only condition which these indicator organs must satisfy is that their relative displacement is capable of being read easily. In most constructions, the indicator member can be formed linked to one of the wheels, at will, in a dial or as an index. To simplify the presentation, it is no longer spoken: of this possibility of inversion or of the multiple forms that the dial and indexes can take.
Figs. 1 to 7 are partly schematic and show the principle of the mechanisms described below.
Figs. 1 and 2 show an internal gear, constituted by a wheel 1 integral with the barrel shaft, meshing with an idle wheel 2 on an eccentric of the barrel, eccentric which is represented here simply by an eccentric hollow.
During normal operation of the movement, the shaft and the wheel 1 are immobile; the barrel rotates slowly in the direction of the arrow d, forcing the wheel 2 to roll on the wheel 1, so that the wheel 2 is animated, in addition to its satellite movement around the axis of the barrel, with a rotation on itself in the same direction as that of the barrel, but slower. So 2 rotates relatively to 1 in the direction of arrow 3.
During reassembly, the shaft, driven in the direction of arrow 3, with a much faster movement than the barrel, drives wheel 2 in the same direction, but more slowly. The direction of the rotation of 2 relative to 1 is therefore the reverse of what it was when walking. Sticky to the indicator members not shown, one is integral with the shaft, the other is controlled by the wheel 2, so as to satisfy the condition of the claim, and, most often, that of subclaim 1.
Figs. 3 and 4 show an internal gear, consisting of a wheel 5 integral with the barrel, meshing with an idle wheel 6. On an eccentric of the shaft. When the movement is running, the shaft is stationary, the barrel and the wheel 5 slowly rotate in the direction of arrow 4, causing the. wheel 6 in the same direction, but with a faster movement. So 6 turns relative to 5 in the direction of arrow 4.
During reassembly, the shaft driven in the direction of arrow 4 - a movement much faster than the barrel, forces the wheel 6 to roll in the wheel 5, so that the wheel 6 is animated, in addition its satellite movement around the axis of the barrel, with a movement of rotation on itself in the direction of arrow 7. Therefore 6 turns, relative ment to 5, in the direction of arrow 7. Indicator members not shown, one is integral with the barrel, the other controlled by the wheel 6, so as to meet the same conditions as in the coaches of FIGS. 1 and 2.
Considering, both in figs. 1 and 2 as in the fi-. 3 and 4, on the one hand, the relative rotation of the shaft and the barrel, on the other hand, the. relative rotation which results from it of the wheels of the internal gear, the angles, therefore also the angular speeds, .de these two relative rotations are proportional.
The numbers of the wheels-considered are chosen as follows, n designating the number -of relative turns of the shaft and of the ball corresponding to the complete development of the mainspring: in the case of FIGS. 1 and 2, n turns away. wheel 1 must correspond (n - approx. 0.5) to (n -1) turns of wheel 2;
in the case of fig. 3 and 4, the numbers of teeth are such that n turns of wheel 5 correspond (n- approx. 0.5) to (n -I- 1) turns of wheel 6.
Consider Figs. 5 to 7, and let us agree, to simplify the text, to designate by "eccentric-wheel" that whose axis does not coincide with the common axis of the shaft and -du barrel. Figs. 5a, 5b and 6 show schematically two examples of control of the dial by the eccentric wheel, satisfying the. under claim 1, fig. 7 shows an example of an order satisfying the claim only. In fig. 5 and 6, 8 denotes the common axis of the shaft, the barrel and the indicator members, 9 the trajectory of the center of the. eccentric wheel.
In fig. 5a and 5b, the dial, not shown, is freely adjusted on a cylindrical part of the shaft concentric with the axis 8, and carries two pins 10.
The two arms 11 are articulated, on the one hand, on the body of the eccentric wheel 12, on the other hand on the intermediate part 13, which has two openings in which the pins 10 are guided. At any rotation of 12, eo Corresponds, transmitted by the arms 11, the part 13 and the pins 10, an equal rotation and in the same direction of the dial.
Fig. 5b represents the same organs -in any position different from that of FIG. 5a. In fig. 6, the intermediate piece 14, which we will call hereafter,; slide ", slides in the eccentric wheel 12 in the direction of the double arrow 15, while the pins 16 integral with the slide 14 can slide in the openings 17 made in the dial not shown, in the direction of arrow 18.
Other examples of connection of the dial to the eccentric wheel are visible in figs. 8a and 8b, 9a., 9b and 9d, lla and 11b. Fig. lla is a section through A 013 of FIG. 11b. More generally, a connection according to sub-claim 1 can be produced by one or more intermediate members between the eccentric wheel and the dial, at least one of these members being able to move in one direction relative to the dial. eccentric wheel, in a different direction relative to the dial,
but in such a way that it maintains an invariable orientation as well relative to the eccentric wheel due relative to the dial. In general, these directions will be perpendicular to each other, so as to carry out the control with a minimum of friction.
In the fib. 7, which is only the fi-. 2 completed by the addition of a dial 19 loose on the shaft and an index 21 integral with the shaft, the control of the dial is performed by a lug 22 integral with the wheel?, Working in a notch radial 20 of dial 19. The wheel \? therefore drives the dial 19 and these two parts have the same average angular speed if we consider a whole number of revolutions.
During a 360 rotation of the wheel 2, the angular speed of the dial deviates from that of the wheel and, at. using the, fig. 7, we will see, below @ if. And in which cases these deviations are: compatible with the claim and which are the favorable constructive data.
r denotes the pitch rays, co the angular speeds', e the eccentricity, R the distance from the center of wheel 2 to the active point of er got 22.
A letter with an index number refers to the organ designated by the index, except for the index c, which relates to the dial
EMI0003.0026
The claim is satisfied as long as the. maximum value of co, is less than co ,. In the position represented by fi-. 7, the erot 22 acts closest to the center of the frame and gives it its maximum speed.
So we have:
EMI0003.0031
and we see that if R # -_, _ ri --j- e == r2, COC inaxi @ mi.
The calculation also shows that
EMI0003.0040
therefore, by decreasing
EMI0003.0041
the deviation of co ,, compared to ms is reduced.
The relation R girl + é = r, therefore limits the field of the invention, in the case where it is not satisfied with the sub-claim 1.
A similar calculation applied to the fia. 4, in which a pin integral with the wheel 6 would drive a dial, would show that aJO mean > W5, that pal 'against GUe 1 "ini <0J5 as long as R <r, In this case. , departing from the scope of the invention, there occurs an untimely inversion .du sense -de the relative rotation of the indicator members.
The only known example of a winding indicator mechanism, comprising an internal gear and rotary indicator members, concentric with the barrel, belongs to the latter category.
On the other hand, if the pin integral with the wheel 6 is placed outside the primary circle of this wheel, that is to say that R> rE, it is, satisfies the claim.
One realizes these phenomena by noting that in the fi-. 1 and 2, the wheel \? rolling on the wheel 1, the points integral with the wheel 2, located on its primary circumference, describe pericycloids, the points located outside its original circumference elongated pericycloids; the points inside the shortened pericycloids.
In the fia. 3 and 4, the wheel 6 rolling in the wheel 5, the points integral with the wheel 6 describe simple hypocycloids, elongated or shortened, depending on whether they are located on its original circumference, outside or inside - of it.
Now, instead of the well-known cusp of the family of simple cycloidal curves, a loop is formed in the shortened cycloids, and an undulation, gradually softening as the point -describing moves away from the primitive circumference outwards, in elongated cycloids.
The connection of an indicator member to the eccentric wheel is further simplified if this wheel becomes directly integral with the indicator member, the movement of which is then no longer concentric with the barrel. One form of execution of this kind, shown in FIGS. 13a and 13b will be explained later.
The calculation shows that the average linear speed of the index, relative to the dial, has the value me
EMI0004.0013
where oi represents the angular speed of the barrel relative to the shaft, e the eccentricity, P the radius of the index, r the pitch radius of the eccentric wheel;
that the minimum linear speed of the index relative to the dial has the value coe
EMI0004.0020
- coe. The device therefore satisfies the claim if P @ T.
The three types of controls shown can be combined with a solution comprising either a wheel integral with the shaft (fig. 1 and 2), or a wheel integral with the bay (fig. 3 and 4). Each of these six combinations can take various forms, resulting in the possibility of a wide variety of executions. Figs. 8a, 8b, 8c, 9a, 9b, 9c, 9d, 10, 11a, 11b, 12, 13a and 13b give some examples.
The designated figures. by a common number relate to the same form - of execution, those whose number is accompanied by the index a or without an index are sections, the others are - plan views or views, of details. In these figures, it can be seen that the barrel shaft 23 pivots on the side of the indicator mechanism in a transparent bearing 25 of a type described in Swiss Patent No. 170144. 24 designates either the barrel or its cover.
Figs. 8 to 11 incl. represent embodiments, in which the rotations of the index relative to the dial and of the arbor relative to the barrel are proportional, and the indicating members are concentric (sub-claim 1).
Fig. 12 shows a form of execution comprising a control of the type shown in FIG. 7, in which the relative rotations of the index-@-dial and shaft-barrel are not, proportional, and in which the indicator members are concentric.
Figs. 13a and 18b show an embodiment in which the relative index-dial and shaft-barrel rotations are not proportional, and the indicator members are not concentric.
In the fi-. 8a, 8b, 8c, the wheel has no opening and the slide 14 -is a closed part, housed between the body of the wheel 6 and the index 21, both partially hollowed out to give him passage. The wheel 5 integral with the barrel is force-driven into a circular nerve 28, made in one piece with the barrel. The dial 19 integral with the barrel has the shape of a crown force-fitted on the rib 28.
In fig. 9a, 9b, 9c, 9d (fig. 9b and 9c are on a smaller scale than 9a), the slide 14, clearly visible in fig. 9b, works with the pins 10 of the dial and with the appendages 34 of the ring 33 integral with the wheel 6. The index is formed by a stud 21 driven into the barrel.
A very weak brake 35, formed by a reshaped roughly elliptical shape, prevents the dial from rotating, within the limits of the frills, bristles the influence of a shock, and facilitates the assembly of the mechanism.
In fig. 10, the slide 14 has a shape similar to that of FIG. 6. The index is formed by a needle, integral with the bolt, freely adjusted in its center -on a barrel of the dial, and moved by its rear end resting on the stud 30.
In fig. 11a and 11b, the solid-state impeller 1 of the shaft 23 may have come integrally with the shaft. Its diameter may be smaller than that of the barrel hole (it must be if the impeller 1 came in one piece with the shaft), which is convenient for assembly and cleaning. The slide 14 has two noses 31, working in two passages of the wheel 2, and two pins 26, working with the casing 19. A needle 21 driven on the shaft constitutes the index.
Fig. 12 calls for the same remarks as the fi-. 11a and 11b concerning the wheel 1. The dial 19 carries a lug 22, working with a fork, integral with the wheel 2. The report
EMI0005.0008
is small.
In fig. 13a and 13b, the index 21 is integral with the wheel 6, and therefore off-center. The barrel 24, on which numbers are traced, serves as a dial. A ring 32 maintains the index. And wheel 6 in their position.
EMI0005.0014
is tall.
The mechanisms described are of minimal space; However, it happens, in small or thin movements, that the usual arrangement of the other organs does not allow this mechanism to be accommodated without increasing the size of the movement. In particular, the encroachment of the barrel wheel on the projection of the barrel can interfere. There are ways, not described here, to overcome this drawback.
