Description

1000, 160 Gewichtsteile Indu striegummi 1:1, 60 Gewichtsteile Weizen stärke, 1,50 Gewichtsteile Wasser, 60 Ge wichtsteile Britishgum, 1-00 Gewichtsteile Glyzerin, 150 Gewichtsteile Pottasche,1.50 Gewichtsteile Natriumf ormaldehydsulf oxylat.

       6-Methoxy-3-oxy- thionaphthen -f- 4-Methyl-6-brom-2. 3-dihy- dro - 3 - keto - thionaphthen - 2 -.(p - dimethyl- amino)-anil, 6 ..6'-Diäthoxy-2 .

       2'-bisthio- naphthenindigo, 6.6'-Dichlor-4.4'-dimethyl- bisthionaphthemindigo, bromiertes Anthan- thron, Diehlorisoviolanthron, Carbazol des 4. 5' - Dibenzoylamino -a . a - anthrimids er setzen.

A preparation suitable for textile printing of such dyes that are to be printed in a reduced state. It has been found that oxidation products of thiodiglycol have the property of improving the printability of dyes which are to be printed in a reduced state, such as vat and sulfur dyes, that is to say to increase both the color strength and the fixation of the dyes to accelerate.

Compared to thiodiglycol itself, the oxidation products mentioned have, in addition to their often even better effectiveness, the particular advantage that printing pastes as well as the printed goods do not. Damage can be left for a longer period of time before further processing than is the case with thiodiglycol.

Another advantage of the oxidation products in question over thiodiglycol is that the latter are solid bodies and can thus be used for dry, powdery dyes. The oxidation products mentioned can also be added to the aqueous pastes of the dyes or else to the printing pastes at any point. be added to their manufacture.

The term "dye preparations" is intended to include both simple mixed rings of vat or sulfur dyes as aqueous pastes of the same (both with or without further additives suitable for printing purposes) and finished printing pastes. In all cases, the presence of the oxidation products of thiodiglycol, mainly thionyl diglycol of the formula
EMI0001.0022
the mentioned beneficial effects when using the preparations for printing purposes.

The extent of the effect that can be achieved is not only dependent on the type of dye used and the compounds used as additives, but also on the method by which the printing inks are made from the dye preparations and on the special printing methods. The main printing methods to be considered can be divided into two groups 1.

Process, pre-reduced zudruoli: en: For example, 40 to 200 grams of dye in dough are mixed with 50 grams of glycerine, 315 to 350 grams of water, 25 to 50 grams of caustic soda (40 'B6), 20 to 40 grams of soda calc., 500 to 450 g thickening, which in 1000 parts by weight contains:

280 parts by weight of Britishgum powder, 100 parts by weight of starch, 20 parts by weight of sodium benzylsulfanil, 600 parts by weight of water, made into a paste and mixed with 40 to 90 grams of sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate and 10 to 40 grams of sodium hydrosulfite at 70 C.

With this printing ink who prints the textile products in the usual way, the prints, for example, muffled in the Mather-Platt and developed and finished as usual.

If the above printing inks contain oxidation products of thiodiglycol, stronger prints are obtained with better fixation than without these agents.

The process of pre-reduced printing is mainly used for dyes that are difficult to mix and for powder brands. However, there is an effort to replace this process in these cases with 2. the process of not printing pre-reduced.

The following example is given for this: The printing ink is prepared: 10 to 2.0 grams of dye paste, 0 to 10 grams of water, 80 grams of thickening, which contains 1000 parts by weight: 170 parts by weight tragacanth! 65:

1000, 160 parts by weight of industrial rubber 1 : 1, 60 parts by weight of wheat starch, 1.50 parts by weight of water, 60 parts by weight of British gum, 1-00 parts by weight of glycerine, 150 parts by weight of potash, 1.50 </ B > Parts by weight of sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate. The textile products printed with such printing inks are also steamed, oxidized and made ready as usual for the development of the dye.

If the above printing inks contain thiolodiglycol, according to this rule the prints are usually stronger and fix better than without this addition, and it is also possible to use the latter method to use dyes that have so far only given satisfactory results by the first method to be able to print.

It should be expressly mentioned that although these two main groups of printing methods will in most cases be the ones to be used with success, the preparations according to the present invention can also be used for modifications of these methods without further ado.

As already mentioned, oxidation products of thiodiglycol can be added at any stage in the production of the printing pastes. For example: a) The dye is used as a water-containing press cake (12 to 40% dye content) with an aqueous solution of Thiony 1 diglycol, optionally also with glycerine or. mixed with another water-soluble alcohol.

The mixture is ground or sieved, and this gives uniform, flat pastes that do not dry out or form crusts, do not settle, do not freeze and can still be processed into high-quality printing inks even after a long time, especially if the pastes also contain a preservative was added.

  b) The dried dyestuff is finely ground and intimately mixed with the finely ground additive, it being possible for a further addition of an emulsifying agent to be advantageous.

  c) The dye is evaporated to dryness in the form of an aqueous paste in the presence of thionyl diglycol and optionally in the presence of dextrin or an emulsifying agent.

  d) The dye is reduced in the presence of glycerine or other similar water-miscible alcohols with prior, simultaneous or subsequent addition of thionyl diglycol, etc., with ammonia, soda ash, potash or the like being used as the alkali, and hydrosulfite as the reducing agent .

  e) The direct addition of the oxidation products mentioned to the printing ink is also capable of significantly improving the printability of the latter, especially the fixa-hon.

For example 72 g of a thickening which contains 60 parts by weight of wheat starch, 142 parts by weight of water, 60 parts by weight of British gum, 2.60 parts by weight of industrial rubber 1: 1, 170 </ B in 1000 parts by weight > Parts by weight tragacanth 6.5: 1000, 150 parts by weight potash, 150 parts by weight sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate are mixed with the aqueous dye paste and 8 grams of glycerine and 8 grams of thionyl diglycol to form a printing ink.

The latter prints much better than an ink that has been prepared with the same thickening and 16 grams of glycerine without thionyl diglycol.

In all of the cases listed under a to e , dye preparations are obtained which either as such have technical advantages with regard to the paste form '(see, for example, the preparations according to a) , or have improved printability and fixation compared to the same preparations without the new additives.

The printing methods to be expediently used have already been discussed above. The prints can be developed using customary methods, for example in the following way: After the printed goods have dried, dampening is applied and the dye is treated with potassium chromium - acetic acid (2! Gr K @ Cr_07, 5 cm 'acetic acid 3% in 1 Liters of water) and developed by subsequent boiling soaping. Example 1: A printing ink of one of the dyes N-Dihydro-1. 2. 1' . 2'-anthraquinone azine, or that described in C. J.

   No. 1109 mentioned oxy derivates of the same, or 3.3'-dichloro-N-dihydro - 1. 2. 1 '. 2 '- anthraehinonazine, or dibenzanthrone (C. I.

No. 1099), which was produced in the manner described under e, provides significantly better fixing prints of greater color strength than the corresponding printing inks without the addition of, for example, thionyl diglycol. If the dampening of the printed goods does not take place immediately, but only after several hours of hanging, then no significant decrease is observed in the color strength, that is, the stabilization of the printing ink is also effective on the printed goods.

Valuable printing preparations can also be produced from the above dyes using the methods mentioned under a to d . The method of printing without pre-reduction is particularly suitable for these dyes. Example 2: The dyes of Example 1 can be made up by the dye:

       6-methoxy-3-oxy-thionaphthene-f- 4-methyl-6-bromo-2. 3-dihydro-3-keto-thionaphthene-2 -. (P-dimethyl-amino) -anil, 6 ..6'-diethoxy-2.

       2'-bisthio-naphthene indigo, 6.6'-dichloro-4.4'-dimethyl-bisthionaphthem indigo, brominated anthropothrone, diehlorisoviolanthrone, carbazole des 4. 5 '- dibenzoylamino - a. a - replace anthrimids.

Other dyes of the indigoid and a.nthraquinoid series as well as sulfur dyes are suitable for use in printing pastes according to the present invention.
