Centrifuge with cooling air flowing through between the drum and the centrifuge base for the drive motor. The invention relates to a centrifuge - --- @ n, i_ "between the drum and the centrifuge bottom flowing through cooling air. The invention consists in that the centrifuge bottom has openings from which the cooling air exits downwards.
Guiding devices for the cooling air flow can be arranged which prevent the cooling air flow from flowing between the drum and centrifuge walls on the one hand and the once used, i.e. heated, cooling air being blown outwards and being sucked in again by the motor on the other that any circulating air operation is excluded.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in Figs. 1 and 2, of which Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the centrifuge and Fig. 2 shows a cross-section of the drive motor.
In the figures in which the same numbers are used for the same parts, the centrifuge drum is denoted by 1, which is mounted on the shaft 2. The shaft '2 also carries the motor resistance 3, as well as the motor armature 4. Ge is stored the shaft 2 in the bearing bodies 5 and B.
The motor housing 6 is fastened with screws 7 together with the bearing body 5 on the centrifuge base 9 be, which in turn is mounted pendulously in the Aufhangvor directions 10 and the centrifuge housing 11 carries. The support of the resistor 3 designed as fan blades 13 ensures the movement of the air in the direction of arrow 14 when the centrifuge drum rotates. The air is sucked in at 15 and flows through passage openings formed by the casing 16 of the motor and its cooling ribs 17 the housing 6 of the motor.
The interior of the motor is covered by a cap 18. The jacket and the ribbed motor housing 6 is used to guide the air past the cooling fins of the motor housing 6 at high speed and thereby aim for extensive cooling. The air continues to flow in the direction of the arrow through the motor resistor 3 in order to flow out through the openings 19 and 20. The air flow is guided through the guide device 21, which consists of an upwardly curved ring that extends just below the drum base.
This ring can either be cast onto the centrifuge base or made from sheet metal and riveted or welded to the centrifuge base. For an even better guidance of the air, a further air guidance ring 25 can be arranged on the underside of the drum. So that the heated air is not sucked in again by the motor, a baffle plate 22 is attached to the stiffening ribs 23 of the centrifuge base under the centrifuge base. The guide devices 21, 22 and 25 force the air flow into certain paths.
The openings 19 and 20 can have any number and shape. The total cross-section of all openings must, however, be large enough so that the air does not offer any unnecessary resistance.
The invention has the advantage that the air no longer emerges from the water outlet openings together with the water from the centrifuge, so that air and water leave the centrifuge separately. This makes the resistance to the outflowing air low3r. In addition, it is avoided that the air between the two jackets flows upwards in the direction of the arrow and carries the water falling in the opposite direction with it so that it could get back into the drum.
