      Verfahren    zur Darstellung eines basischen     Azofarbstoffes.       Vorliegendes Patent bezieht sich auf ein  Verfahren zur Herstellung des     Farbstoffes    der  wahrscheinlichen Formel:

    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man     Dehydrothio-          p-toluidin        diazotiert,    mit     1-Phenyl-3-metbyl-          5-pyrazolon    kuppelt und auf den so erhaltenen       Azofarbstoff        Dimethylsulfat    einwirken lässt.  



  Der neue     Farbstoff    löst sich in Wasser  leicht mit     rotstichig    gelber Farbe und gibt  auf gebeizter Baumwolle Färbungen von glei  cher Nuance, die sich durch vorzügliche Licht  echtheit auszeichnet.    <I>Beispiel:</I>  15 leg des in üblicher Weise hergestellten  Farbstoffes Dehydrothio-p-toluidim-azo-l-phe-         nyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolon    werden mit 400 kg  Chlorbenzol und 6 kg     Dimethylsulfat    unge  fähr 6-10 Stunden gekocht. Der erhaltene       Farbstoff    wird nach dem Erkalten     abfiltriert     und in üblicher Weise von anhängendem  Chlorbenzol befreit. Zur weitern Reinigung  wird in heissem Wasser gelöst und aus der  filtrierten Lösung mit Kochsalz gefällt.  



  Der gleiche     Farbstoff    wird erhalten, wenn  man das Produkt mit     Dimethylsulfat    ohne  Lösungsmittel mehrere Stunden auf etwa 130   erhitzt.

Der neue Farbstoff löst sich in Wasser leicht mit rotstickig gelber Farbe und gibt auf gebeizter Baumwolle Färbungen von glei cher Nuance, die sich durch vorzügliche Licht echtheit auszeichnen.
