Process for the preparation of a trisazo dye. The main patent describes a process for the production of a black trisazo dye, in which the p-aminoazo body obtainable by acid coupling: p-amino-benzene-azo-gamma acid is diazotized, coupled with uammatic acid and then further diazotized and with m-phenylenediamine is coupled.
It has now been found that a very valuable black trisazo dye is also obtained if the p-aminoazo body obtainable by acidic coupling: p-aminobenzene-azo-gamma acid is diazotized, alkaline-coupled with gamma acid, then further diazotized and treated with 1.3- Phenylenediamine-4-sulfo4 acid couples.
The new dye is a black, bronze-colored powder with excellent water solubility. He dyes cotton and rayon, with the exception of acetate silk, deep black. When dyeing blended fabrics made of cotton and acetate silk, or artificial silk and acetate silk, the acetate silk remains pure white.
Example: The diazo solution of 13.9 parts of p-nitraniline, 29 parts of hydrochloric acid of 20 B6 and 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite is added to a slurry of 24 parts of gamma acid, whereupon the coupling mixture is added for so long stir until the dye formation has ended. After adding 12 parts of soda, the nitro group of the dye obtained is reduced with 12.8 parts of 100% sodium sulfur.
The resulting p-amino monoazo body is separated off by salting out and, after dissolving in water, 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite are added, whereupon the mixture is allowed to run into a mixture of 43 parts of hydrochloric acid from 2011 B6, ice and water. When the diazotization has ended, the diazo compound obtained is added. in a strongly ge cooled solution of 23.9 parts of gamma acid and 32 parts of soda. The coupling is complete after a few hours.
The carrion-salted and squeezed-out disazo dye is mixed with the required amount of sodium nitrite determined by titration, after lamming with water, and added to a mixture of 43 parts of hydrochloric acid of 20 B6, water and ice.
After stirring for 2-3 hours at 0-2, this diazo compound is added to a solution of 17.5 parts of 1,3-phenylenediamine-4-sulfonic acid and 28 parts of soda; After stirring for 10-12 hours, it is pressed, dried and ground.
