Abdichtungsmittel gegen Zugluft.
EMI0002.0031
50 <SEP> Gewichtsteile <SEP> ,Wachs,
<tb> 40 <SEP> Vaseline,
<tb> 10 <SEP> Harz,
<tb> 10 <SEP> Terpentinöl,
<tb> 5 <SEP> Leinöl,
<tb> 1-2 <SEP> Desinfiziermittel.
Draft sealant. Between window frames and cornices, window frames and sashes, door frames and doors ete. there are usually joints through which drafts can enter the interior of a room. In addition to the harmful effect on the health of the residents, the entry of drafts, or the escaping warm air that goes hand in hand with it, means a loss of room warmth.
To remedy this inconvenience, a number of sealing means in the form of cords made of textile material or rubber, tubes filled with loose cotton "felt strips, etc., all of which had to be attached to the base adjacent to the joint, for example by nailing , proposed wor the, also paper strips to stick on the pad and others.
However, the seal achieved is imperfect and the application of the sealing strips is a matter of course; In addition, these sealants attract moisture and water, form breeding grounds for vermin and have a short lifespan.
The present invention relates to a means of sealing against drafts in which the inherent disadvantages known to date are eliminated.
According to the invention, the sealing means consists of a certain cord-like structure to be inserted into a figure to be sealed, which is impregnated with a compound which is permanently plastic and water-repellent.
A disinfectant is expediently added to the impregnation compound and the cord-like structure is made from parallel to one another, at most slightly twisted, cotton cords in order to enable extensive changes in shape and adaptation to the joint to be sealed.
An embodiment of the sealing means according to the present invention is shown in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 shows the cord-like structure in. To view; Fig. 2 is a cross section of the same, and Fig. 3 shows an application mode.
The cord-like structure 1 is made from parallel to each other, at most slightly twisted cotton cords 2, which through. twisted threads - the 3 are held together. Slides thus.
Cord-like structures consisting of relatively loosely juxtaposed individual cords permit extensive changes in shape, that is to say, for example, it can be pressed into a thin strip.
This cord-like structure 1 is impregnated with a mass 4 which is permanently plastic and water-repellent. An impregnation compound with the following composition has proven to be advantageous:
EMI0002.0031
50 <SEP> parts by weight <SEP>, wax,
<tb> 40 <SEP> Vaseline,
<tb> 10 <SEP> resin,
<tb> 10 <SEP> turpentine oil,
<tb> 5 <SEP> linseed oil,
<tb> 1-2 <SEP> disinfectant. The individual components can vary in their proportions and can also be partially replaced by other, similar-acting materials.
FIG. 3 shows how the sealing means can be used in a front window. With 5 the cornices be characterized; 6 is the window frame and 1 is the sealant placed in the joint between the cornice and the window frame and pressed flat.
The great advantage of using the sealing means described above is that it is simply inserted into the joint or crack to be sealed; Without any further attachment, it adheres to the base due to the adhesive effect. The sealant can be removed again during the warmer season in order to be used again when the cold season starts.
When the sealing agent is placed between the window frame and the window sash or the door frame and the door, the same should adhere to the respective frame and not to the window sash or the door. This is achieved in a simple manner: because when the sealant is first applied, the rebate of the window sash or door that interacts with it is painted with water or the sealing cord is painted with water on the relevant side.
With this sealant a completely hermetic seal of the joints in question is achieved, which also does not allow moisture or water. The disinfectant - removes pests. In addition, the sealant is characterized by lower costs than the previous ones.
