Door travel to show a purple pimple dye of the 2-thionaphthene-2-indolindigo-Itelhe. It has been found that by condensation of oxythionaphthene derivatives of the general formula:
EMI0001.0006
where X is a halogen or an alkyl group and Y is hydrogen, which can be substituted by an alkyl group or a halogen, with a-isatin chloride or a-isatin anilide or their derivatives, in particular the halogenated, violet vat dyes he holds, cotton and wool color from the alkaline hydrosulphite vat in violet tones, which due to their purity and authenticity,
In particular, their excellent light fastness surpasses the previously known vat dyes of the 2-thionaphthene - 2 - indolindigo series and is on a par with the well-known violet dyes of the anthraquinone series, of which they are in turn characterized by their particular suitability for printing, as they are easily fix it on the fiber and etch it in pure white.
The subject of the present patent is the representation of a violet vat dye of the 2-thionaphterr-2-indolindigo series of the formula:
EMI0001.0025
by condensation of 4-1Vlethyl-5. Egg. 7-trichloroxythionaphten with a 5. 7-dibromo-a-isatin body of the formula:.
EMI0001.0032
where Ri denotes a radical which is split off during the condensation.
When dry, the dye is a red-violet powder that is soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid with a green-blue color; With alkaline hydrosulphite, it forms a yellow-colored vat, from which cotton and wool in lively blue-violet shades of large. he purity and excellent fastness to washing, light and chlorine are dyed.
The 4-methyl-5.6.7-ti-ichloi-oxytliionaphten, which has not yet been described, can be prepared, for example, from 1-methyl-3-amino-4. 5 .6-trichlorobenzene by converting it into 1-methyl-4.5. 6-trichloro-3-phenylthioglykolsäui # e and ring closure of the same in a known manner, either by treatment with strong acids, e.g. B. chlorine sulfonic acid, at low temperatures or by conversion to the corresponding chloride, z.
B. by heating with phosphorus trichloride and condensation of the latter by means of aluminum chloride, phosphorus pentoxide, etc.
The 4-methyl-5.6.7-trichlorooxythionaphthene can also be prepared from 1-methyl-2-aniirio-4. 6-dichloro- or 4.5.6-trichlorobenzene analogously to the Swiss patents No. 71331 and No. 72277 method described.
Example: 93 parts of 5,7-dibi-oinisatin are suspended in about ½ parts of chlorobenzene and, after 90 parts of phosphorus pentachloride have been added, converted into the 5, 7-dibromo-a-isatirichloride by heating Divide 4-methyl-5, 6. 7-ti-chlorooxythionaphthene in about ten times the amount of chlorobenzene and heat the mixture for a while to about 60-70 (1 C.
The dye separates, it is filtered, washed out and dried.
In the same way you can 5. Apply 7-dibromo-a-isatinanilide.
