Les deux premiers variomètres sont cou- neatés comme préddemment, c'est-à-dire qu'ils constituent un cireuit primaire eouplé de façon variable au circuit. secondaire lequel ,Pomprend;

Variometer. The present invention relates to a variometer, characterized in #ce that. its windings: fixed and mobile are made up of several sections comprising each at least one layer.
The accompanying drawing represents, to by way of example, one embodiment of the variometer according to the invention, as well as -various applications of said variometer to -devices receivers and transmitters of telephone # t-Draphiie or wireless telephony.
The, fig. 1 represents -in elevation said shape. execution of the -variometer, and the fig. 2 is a pro-fil view; Figures 3 to 8 show sehematically various applications of the variometer.
The variometer has two cheeks or flanges 1, made of insulating material, kept parallel by means of spacers 2 so as to produce a frame or frame in the form of a lumbatir or cylinder whose side wall does not exist .
Each of the cheeks is mu nie on a part eer-ta.ine. its peripliery and (the part and -on the other with a diameter of 3 notches facing each other -in which the various parallel sections 4 and - arranged in -series eonstituant -of the windings of the variometer.
A the interior of #this frame is placed parallel to the cheeks 1 a disc 5 in insulating material, mounted on an insulating crank handle < B> 6 integral with an axis 7 rotating 4 in two or vertures made in the center of each of the cheeks 1. This disc is also provided on a # certain part of its periphery with checkmarks 8 in which are placed the various parallel sections 9 and connected in series constituting the other winding of the variometer.
These two windings can move relative to to each other, for example, the frame can be fixed and the disc 5 can rotate to inside said frame. The variation of the mutual induction coefficient of these in bearings is obtained by varying the angle of their magnetic fields.
When the windings are made of # multi-layered wafers, this small variation will take place within larger limits than in the #case of single-layer to coils helically wound on the side wall: of cylinders.
In addition, the variometer thus constituted has the advantage (having it - windings of which the total inherent capacity is reduced oe which is of an appreciable advantage when the device is pareauru by - currents to </ B> high frequency.
Such a tilting variometer with a set of capacitors and suitably arranged contact points is capable of numerous applications in devices receiving or transmitting # high frequency currents such as those used in radioteleg1 # aphia and in radiotelephony.
The fic. 3 represents the application of this variometer to, a wireless tele- (Y -e.
,, raphi 9 represents the mobile winding of the va riometer ending at two terminals 10 and It or preferably to devices cooperating with a contact-making plug such as 1-2. 4 shows the fixed winding terminated at - terminals 13 and 14. In combination with. the variometer ed above are # disposed of the re-connected 15 capacities. of a pait, at the terminal 13 and. on the other hand, to terminals 16 or contact socket devices cooperating with a plug 17.
The antenna 18 is connected by means -of plug 12 to terminal 10; terminals 11 and 14 are joined by a terminal strip 19 and the earth is connected to. one of the terminals 16 depending on the length waveform of the signals to receive. It is therefore possible to thus have a continuous variation within the limits of the primary coil for each of the capacitors inserted in the circuit, which makes it possible to obtain an extended range of variation of the wavelength of the circuit.
Other coils of choke -of any type- (read, can of course be connected in series with- the variometer.
Two variometers can be combined together with a view to their application to a receiving device comprising a variable primary circuit and a secondary circuit -ë #, alternatively variable, "s two circuits being coupled ind-uctively and their coupling may be laughing.
This app is. represented: ent # e sehem #, i.- tically in fio. 4.
The strip 19 is removed and the terminals Il and 14 are connected to the terminals of Mobile window qa of a second variometer. This winding 91, is interposed (111 series with the windings 4 and 9, that is to say in series in the primary eireuit.
The bearing 4a of the second variometer then plays the role of inductance of the secondary circuit which is closed by la, bar, or flexible connection to fiehes -) () by interposing one or two or more of the devices of the device.
The, variometer 4îL, ga therefore makes it possible to vary the coupling between the primary circuit and the secondary circuit. The receiving device is completed by connecting to the bars 13a and I4 # 1 a detector with telephone receiver.
The deerit variometer can also be applied to an electromagnetic feedback device between the plate circuit of a three-electrode thermionic tube a. and the eireuit, # ecoii (lqirf! of a receiving device so to realize an autodyne system for the reception, pti, o of the signals emitted on maintained waves-- ,.
Fig. 5 shows schematically the application of four variometers for the realization # of a receiving device with a thermionic tube ÎÏ, three electrodes.
The first two variometers are coupled as before, that is to say they constitute a primary circuit which is variably coupled to the circuit. secondary which, Pomprend;
Related inductors 4a, 9b, 90, P and One or more capacitors 15b. The value of the total ductance] # -_ of this circuit can vary by varying the,
coupling of variometer 4b # 9b. To the terminals of this secondary cireuit is connected a therinaionic detector tube 91 in the plate circuit of which is interposed the inductance P coupled so variable a a with Pinductaiiet # 9c so to realize the device autnd-viw # -f
ri, ù to see the teleplionic receiver, 22 for signals transmitted on continuous waves.
This assembly can be carried out very quickly with the use of contact strings as explained above and allows the use of variometers to make all the desired settings, to </ B > know: continuous variation -of the indueta.n (,, th primary, variable coupling between primary -and secondary, continuous variation of one, part of the secondary indueta.n and finally variable coupling in view - the autodyne operation of the Iliermoionic tube used.
Mention may also be made, among others, of the application of the variometer to high frequency resonant amplifiers.
This application is represented in fig. 6. The variometer 4 to 9 is the variable self of the #resonant circuit, and one of the capacitors there is the oapaeit # of said circuit, which is intercalated in the ide circuit -la. plate 23. The latter -is connected to the aril 24 of the Zn tube following by a capacitor 25. By -moving the mobile part of the variometer, we make the choke of the resonant -circuit laugh.
We thus arrive in a very simple way to achieve an amplifier at resonance at self variable.
A variant of the variometer described consists of with. superposing two windings 4, independent on the cheeks or flanges 1 and, two windings 9 on the movable disk, 5. This produces a double variometer with single casing or frame, which is also susceptible to numerous applications. Among others, this double variometer can be applied, advantageously to a, resonance amplifiers as shown schematically in figure. 7.
4 and 40 are the two fixed windings superimposed on the cheeks 1 of the va.riometer and 9 and 90 are the gods windings superimposed on the (disk: mobile, 5. In others you-my 4 and 9 form the windings by pancakes of a variometer -et 40 and 90 </ B> those of another variometer comprising as frame the same support as the first.
One of the sets of windings 4, "9 is interposed in the circuit of the plate 26 of a thermionic tube -to < / B> three electrodes, while saying that the other set 40, 90 is interconnected by the circuit of the grid 27 of a stiivant tube and forms with the one of the 15 capacities is a resonant circuit.
This arrangement has the advantage of allowing the simultaneous variation, and in the same way if the connections are suitable, of the choke of the plate circuit 26 and of the choke of the resonant grid circuit 27.
By mechanically coupling end to end several variometers as described above, it is possible to realize a resonance amplifier with several stages. very small. To this effect, each end of a variometer shall be fitted with a small coupling sleeve or a suitable interlocking system.
The double variometer can also be advantageously applied to a 4 # o annoyance system, maintained to -tliermoionic tubes three electrodes. .
This% pplication -is represented seliérn,% - fically in fig. 8.
One (the> two windings 4, 9 is interposed in the grid circuit of a generator thermionic tube 28, while, Fau- The game 40, 90 is inter-related, in the circuit board.
-and tear with -unecapacity 29 an oscillating circuit in which dares # ilIa, tions were maintained. Under these conditions, the necessary coupling between the grid and plate circuit remains constant whatever the position of the two mobile windings 9, 90, that is to say 'whatever the length d 'wave ides maintained oscillations.
This advantage is of great interest since it makes it possible to establish with a variometer key transmitting stations capable of operating within fairly wide wavelength limits without requiring any adjustments as to the coupling. The oscillating circuit shown to by way of example in fig. 8 could well be replaced by an antenna-earth system.
As it goes without saying, the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described above; on the contrary, it includes numerous, -, variants which are easy to to imagine after the explanations given in the present description.
