Abstract

The sleeve is composed of tensile fabric with an adjustable strap that extends from the seam of the sleeve on the chest and back respectively to encircle the upper chest and proceeds under the opposite arm. The sleeve is intended to be worn by athletes to provide protection from the elements as well as muscle support and the ability to efficiently administer heating and cooling pads to the arm muscles to be inserted into the zippered pocket located on the outward facing side of the sleeve. Located above the zippered pocket is an adjustable tensile band for muscle support capable. The sleeve also contains a thumb hole to ensure optimal position of the sleeve on the arm.

Description

LA MANGA/THE SLEEVE
La Manga (The Sleeve)*, is a sports garment that will benefit and protect the arm of an athlete that uses the arm on repetitive motion activities by keeping the arm and muscles warm and ready to perform his/her sport such as in: Base-ball, Tennis, Soft-ball, Foot-ball (Quarter back), Cricket, etc.
La Manga (The Sleeve) can be worn by men and women, left or right handed players, from Children to Adults, and the sizes will vary like any other garment to fit any body size. It will cover the entire arm and from the arm-pit it will extend to the front and back to cover the pectoral muscles and the shoulder (blade), extending to the top of the shoulder, all in one piece. The Sleeve is not intrusive and it has been designed to be worn on top of the uniform or gear worn during games or practices. It can also be worn during the warm up period before the start of the game.
La Manga (The Sleeve) is designed all in one piece and can easily be secured with straps that go around the torso. The strap has a lock-strap that can easily be adjusted to fit he player's torso.
The Sleeve* is designed with light material and the players can actually wear it to play the sport or warm-up prior to the start of the game or match.
When the players want to keep their arms and muscles warm and ready for the game between innings, in the case of the base-ball and soft-ball players; or between sets, in the case of tennis players, The Sleeve can easily be put on or remove instead of using towels to wrap around their arms to keep it warm, as is done in some instances. It can easily be put on or removed by just unlocking the strap and sliding the arm in or out.
*The Sleeve in Spanish means La Manga.

Figure one, demonstrates the entirety of The Sleeve. It highlights the regular size sleeve and indicates where the elbow and the shoulder rest. As well as, the extension that covers the shoulder, pectoral and shoulder (blade) muscles.
The Sleeve is designed and can be worn by men and women, adults and children alike and to fit any body mass.
The Sleeve is all in one piece. Once it reaches the arm pit section, it splits and that allows it to reach the pectoral and shoulder, and shoulder muscles. From the lower part of the pectoral and shoulder (blade) muscles, it has an elastic strap with a strap-buckle that can be easily adjusted and secured around the torso to fit the player.
The Sleeve resembles the sleeve of a coat plus the addition that extends over the shoulder, shoulder (blade) and pectoral.

Figure 2;
Figure two, it's a front view of the right arm, it shows how The Sleeve fits and covers the pectoral muscles. It also demonstrates how the strap fits around the torso and how the strap-buckle can be used to adjust the strap to fit the athlete's torso and how to secure it.
It can be put on or removed very easily by unlocking the buckle. Once it's on, the player can move the arm freely to perform the sport or any activity without restriction.
It can be worn during the warm-up period, or between innings or sets to keep the arm and muscles warm to prevent injuries.

Figure 3;
Figure three, it's a cross section of the right arm from the back and shows how The Sleeve covers the shoulder (blade) and how the strap wraps around the torso. The arm can be rotated in any direction completely unrestricted and free.

Figure 4;
Figure four, it's a view of the right arm from the back and illustrates how The Sleeve covers the entire arm, as well as, the shoulder (blade).
The strap shows going around the torso under the opposite arm and gets secured with the strap at the front.

Figure 5;
Figure five, it's a demonstration of The Sleeve being worn on the left arm. A
view from the back covering the left shoulder (blade) shows how the strap goes around the torso under the opposite arm to be secured at the front.

Figure 6;
Figure six, it's a view from the side and shows how The Sleeve looks from the side covering the entire arm, shoulder, pectoral and shoulder blade.
