Abstract
A method and a shelter arrangement for temporary covering of an open deck space (1) on a watercraft. Said open deck space (1) is provided with a shelter arrangement comprising a flexible protective covering (5), which is tightened in a first direction by means of a plurality of supports (4), which may be gathered side by side for storing and moved in a second direction, principally perpendicular with respect to the supports (4), to be placed at a distance from one another for setting up the shelter arrangement in order to cover said open deck space (1). The ends of the supports (4) are provided with a guiding arm (10), which determines the mutual distance between the supports (4), when the shelter arrangement is in its outspread position, and pushes the supports (4) located ahead of it into the collapsed position of the shelter arrangement, when the shelter arrangement is being packed together.
Claims (14)
1. A method of temporary covering of an open deck space (1) on a watercraft, according to which said open deck space (1) is provided with a shelter arrangement comprising a flexible protective covering (5), which is tightened in a first direction by means of a plurality of supports (4), which are moved from a first position, in which they are gathered side by side for storing, into a second position in a second direction, principally perpendicular with respect to the supports (4), to be placed at a distance from one another for setting up the shelter arrangement in order to cover said open deck space (1), and in which the opposite sides of said open deck space (1) are provided with rail-shaped guide elements (3) guiding the supports (4) while the shelter arrangement is being spread out and packed together, characterised in that the method includes further the step of providing the ends of the supports (4) with a guiding arm (10), which determines the mutual distance between the supports (4), when the shelter arrangement is in its outspread position, and pushes the supports located ahead of it, when the shelter arrangement is being packed together.
2. A method according to claim 1, characterised in that in the spreading direction of the shelter arrangement the outermost part is provided with a guiding arrangement, for instance with two support elements (4), which are fixedly connected to one another at a distance from each other.
3. A method according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the ends of the supports are provided with a supporting arm (8), which gets its guidance from the guide element (3), for keeping the support (4) in a vertical position.
4. A method according to anyone of the preceding claims, characterised in that the protective covering is divided into sections, which are supported irrespective of one another by adjacent supports (4;4c).
5. A method according to anyone of the preceding claims, characterised in that a storage space (6) is arranged at the end of said open deck space (1), into which storage space the shelter arrangement is moved in its collapsed position.
6. A method according to anyone of the preceding claims, characterised in that a service trailer unit (12) movable in said second direction is arranged above the shelter arrangement.
7. A shelter arrangement for temporary covering of an open deck space (1) on a watercraft, said shelter arrangement comprising a flexible protective covering (5), which is tightened in a first direction by means of a plurality of supports (4), which may be gathered side by side for storing and moved in a second direction, principally perpendicular with respect to the supports (4), to be placed at a distance from one another for setting up the shelter arrangement in order to cover said open deck space (1), and in which the opposite sides of said open deck space (1) are provided with rail-shaped guide elements (3) for guiding the supports (4), while the shelter arrangement is being spread out and packed together, characterised in that the ends of the supports (4) are provided with a guiding arm (10), which determines the mutual distance between the supports (4), when the shelter arrangement is in its outspread position, and pushes the supports (4) located ahead of it into the collapsed position of the shelter arrangement, when the shelter arrangement is being packed together.
8. A shelter arrangement according to claim 7, characterised in that in the spreading direction of the shelter arrangement the outermost part is provided with a guiding arrangement, for instance with two support elements (4), which are fixedly connected to one another at a distance from each other.
9. A shelter arrangement according to claim 7 or 8, characterised in that the support (4) comprises an arch-like section (4a) and a primarily vertical section (4b) at its both ends, and that the ends of the support are provided with guide rollers (7) or the like, which are adapted to cooperate with said rail-shaped guide elements (3).
10. A shelter arrangement according to anyone of claims 7 - 9, characterised in that said guiding arm (10) is turnably supported by the ends of the supports (4).
11. A shelter arrangement according to anyone of claims 7 - 10, characterised in that the ends of the supports (4) are provided with a supporting arm (8), which gets its guidance from the guide element (3), for keeping the support (4) in a vertical position.
12. A shelter arrangement according to anyone of claims 7 - 11, characterised in that the protective covering (5) is divided into sections, which are supported irrespective of one another by adjacent supports (4; 4c).
13. A shelter arrangement according to anyone of claims 7 - 12, characterised in that a storage space (6) is arranged at the end of said open deck space (1), into which storage space the shelter arrangement is moved in its collapsed position.
14. A shelter arrangement according to anyone of claims 7 - 13, characterised in that a service trailer unit (12) movable in said second direction is arranged above the shelter arrangement.
