Description
WOOD COATING FINISH FOR WALLS
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to the field of the construction industry, more precisely to wood panels for covering walls.
s BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In the building construction industry, there is a demand for a finish providing a natural look to the wall. This finish should be compatible with the wall structure as being light and easily shouldered to the wall. For example, metallic and PVC
walls provide an unnatural appearance; a wood sheathing may give a more natural look.
lo The existing wood coatings have the tendency to be uplifted by the wind.
There is therefore a need for wood coating for finish of walls eliminating the above-mentioned drawbacks while providing a more aesthetical appearance.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a wood coating Is for the finish of walls. The wood coating comprises wood panels, which comprise tools for the panels being inserted into each other and being affixed to the wall.
Preferably, the inserting tools are split rivets. The split rivets allow the panels being easily overlapped over each other using a tongue-in-groove system.
According to another aspect of the invention, there is provided a method for 2o preventing a wood coating from detaching from a wall due to the wind. In this method, the wood coating is made of wood panels. Each wood panel comprises a system to remain attached to each other and to the wall despite the wind effect.
Preferably, the system used to keep the panels attached to each other is a tongue-in-groove system.

2 Once the wood panels are affixed to the wall and fitted into each other, they create a visually continuous effect of a wood coating.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a wood panel according to a preferred embodiment s of the invention.
DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides with wood panels for use in the building construction industry. The wood panels are assembled using a tongue-in-groove system to form a curtain wall affixed on a structural wall. In a preferred Io embodiment of the invention, the wood panels are thin parallelepiped shaped and made of light materials.
Referring to FIG. 1, there is provided a wood panel 10. Each panel 10 preferably comprises a tongue 14, on one side, and a groove 18, on the opposite side. One is wood panel's 10 tongue 14 is adapted to be inserted in the groove 18 of the following wood panel and so forth. The successive insertions allow the coating having a visually continuous effect and resisting the wind, which tend to lift the panels up.
2o According to another aspect of the invention, there is provided a method for preventing the wind from detaching a wood coating from a wall. The wood coating is fixed in a way that prevents its lifting up. As best shown in FIG. 1, the imbrications of the tongues 14 in the grooves 18 stabilized the wood curtain formed by the assembly of the panels.
