Abstract

The present invention is an electric articulated bumper system which is installed under the bumper of any public transport or school bus; either mini buses, "flat nose" or extended nose. The purpose of this electric articulated bumper system is to ensure the safety of schoolchildren, at the same time that the school bus stops to drop a child. This articulated bumper system immediately starts working. Then the child must pass in front of the articulated bumper which is 7'0 "long open. Thus the driver will be able to see in front of the bus. The articulated bumper will work with the red lights indicating that the bus is stopped and will close by closing the red light switch at the top of the bus. There will be a screen which will prevent schoolchildren from sitting on the bumper. This will not be harmful to the driver's visibility when the driver is closed because the articulated bumper will not exceed more than 4 "from the original bumper of the bus.

Description

JHS-1 12 volt electric articulated system __________________________________________ Motor with two input and output functions, this is located under the bus as shown in Figure 1.7 followed on the "shaft" of the motor of a steel plate as shown in Fig.1.2.
The steel plate should be made to allow opening of go degree between closed position and position opened. The motor will operate on 1/4 rotation. The arm that is attached to it Fig.1.5 will be done accordingly depending on where motor will be fixed and must operate on "bearing" on both extremities. In Figure 2 the open articulated bumper Fig.2.1 we see the grille, Fig.2.2 or the front bumper and Fig.2.3 the bumper rear under that of the bus Fig. 2.10. In Fig. 2.8, we see the articulated arms, Fig. 2.7 the front part of the tube fixed under the bumper shock Fig. 2.5; the front part of the tube fixed under the bumpers Fig. 2.6 the central part of the tube and Fig. 2.5 the rear part of the tube taken under the extendable bumper of Fig.2.3. Fig. 29 demonstrates the "pine" which retains the "bearings" and mount to the visor articulated shock. In Fig.2.11 we see the electric motor and at Fig.2.12 the arm that will operate the system.
The "bearings" which are installed on the frames Fig.1.8 are installed between the two front arms between the two arms at center which closes at the other end, towards the bus.

The front bumper is an aluminum extrusion covered a layer of rubber ("C" profile). On each side, there a retractable tube must be installed, the outside of which is 2 "(Fig.1.4).
The one going to the front and the one going to the center will have 2 "~
the interior thus sliding the first tube into the second and towards the last fixed under the articulated bumper. The latter will have 2 1/4 "inside and 2 1/2" outside.
On each side of the articulated bumper, there will be installed a rubber accordion of the same height as the "bumper" or bumper.

The articulated bumper which is installed under the bumper of the bus will be bolted to the latter for easy installation.
As shown in Perspective 1, there will be a grid that prevent children from sitting on the bumper. This wire mesh will be made of squared metal rods, spaced about 4 "apart, and about 2'0 "high. If the headlights on the bus are higher than Perspective 1 shows, there will be no opening in the fence.

207 ~ 213 Aluminum electrical barrier _________________________________ The barrier is approximately 14 "tall and has a height of 4'6 "from the ground. It is 6 'long to stop all traffic in the opposite direction. This barrier located at the height of a window will contain 4 red lights of 4 "Fig.4.1 and a stop in standard aluminum Fig. 4.2. The latter will be placed in the center of the fence.
The articulated barrier will be fixed on "bearings" Fig.5.10 with two 90 degree spindles, 4 "X 6" Fig.5.12. The barrier will be powered by a motor electric such as the stop warning signs which are currently on all school bus models. The barrier will be operated with red lights on the front and rear of the bus. The lights that are installed on the barrier Fig. 4.1 will also be started at the same time on the same system electric. This means that when the bus driver will activate its red lights, the barrier will open at the same time. Which should give good results and greater safety for drivers of other vehicles and of course for the children.

(Claims) The embodiments of the invention, about which a exclusive right of property or privilege is claimed, its defined as follows:
Claim 1 School bus system to pass a student in front of the bus without the driver losing sight of this student on his way.
Claim 2 A 6 'articulated stop barrier that can stop traffic of any vehicle traveling in the same direction as the bus or contrary. This is to ensure the safety of schoolchildren and motorists.
