Abstract
ABSTRACT
The invention relates to a jointing device suitable for fastening cross directional sheets and/or boards, where the sheets are joined to each other through slots the width of which corresponds to the wall thickness of the sheets so that the slot of both sheets fits to the non-slotted cross direc-tional sheet.
The aim of the invention lies in that at least one widening is formed in the slot of one of the two sheets joined to each other, and at least one hole is formed in the solid part of the other sheet, or at least one widening is formed in the slot of both sheets and holes and/or the widenings fit each other as to be suitable for receiving a jointing piece, preferably a ball or prism.

Description
~226~39 The invention relates to a component part of a variable building toy consisting of a jointing device for fastening cross directional sheets, where the sheets are joined to each other through slots, the width of which corresponds to the wall thick-news in such a way that the slot of both sheets fits the non-slotted part of the cross directional sheet. Each sheet has a widening disposed along the longitudinal axis of the slot and in at least one of the sheets the widening intersects with the slot so that a three dimensional aperture is formed by the intersection of the widening.
The widening may have different shapes, but since a circular widening is the simplest, thus hereinafter the widening will be referred to as the hole.
A jointing piece is arranged at the meeting point of the hole, and is preferably a ball, prism, or cube, but could be any other optional shape. The jointing piece may be inserted and removed by use of the flexibility of the sheets, e.g. by bending the part of the sheet around the hole to allow the jointing piece to be inserted or removed. A solution is also conceivable, where the jointing piece is sufficiently small to be inserted without bending and after insertion it swells or expands in another way and thus fastens the sheets.
If a set of holes is in the sheets and the jointing pieces are objects, such as e.g. tennis balls, then after insert lion the tennis balls not only hold the two sheets together, but inversely the sheets are used as means of packing or for carrying the tennis balls.
6~3~
The sheets may be flat, curved or bent.
The invention thus comprises a component part of a variable building toy in which cross-directional resilient sheets are joined to each other by means of slots the width of which corresponds to the thickness of the corresponding sheet so that the sheets can be slid into each other along the slots with both slots fitting onto a non-slotted portion of the corresponding cross-directional sheet, wherein each sheet has at least one hole of wider dimension than the slot, formed so that some portion of the hole is disposed along the longitudinal axis of the slot, and in at least one of the sheets the hole intersects with the slot in the same sheet, so that a three dimensional aperture is formed by the intersection of the holes at the junction of the sheets for reception of a complementary jointing piece.
The invention is described in detail with the aid of the drawings showing the jointing device according to the invent lion given by way of example only.

In case of the solution shown in Figures 1 to 3, a slot 4 extending to half width of the sheets is formed in a sheet 1 and 2. A circular widening pa is on each end of the slot I The jointing piece yin this solution it a ball pa.
In the solution shown in Figures 4 to I the slots 4 formed in the 3heetsl and 2 extend similarly to half width of the sheet. widening pa it formed in the slot 4 of the sheet 1, while a hole 6 it formed in a centerline above slot 4 of the sheet 2. naturally the hole 6 is on the same level with the widening pa in the other sheet I Here the jointing piece 3 it also a ball pa.
In the solution shown in Figures 7 Jo 9, the sheets 1 and 2 are held together by two jointing piece I 3, in this case too by balls I Accordingly a slot 4 it formed in each sheet 1 and 2 and widening pa it part of the slot. In addition a hole 6 is formed it the cent-reline of each slot 4.
In the solution shown in Figures 10 to 12, the jointing piece 3 it a prism 3b, The 910t9 4 formed in the sheets 1 and 2 extend to half width of the sheets.
The widening formed at the end of slots 4 it urea shaped corresponding to the prism 3b.
In the solution one in Figure 13 to 14, the jointing place 3 is again a ball pa, but here jet of glue balls it used. Accordingly a long slot 4 is formed in the eta 1 end 2, in which sever widening 5 and several holes 6 are Wormed it the centerline of the slot 4.
In the solution shown in Figure 15 to 17, the slots 4 oared in the sheets 1 and 2 ens shouter than the half width ox both slots 4. The jointing piece 3 is a ball pa in this solution too, In the Louisiana shown in Figure 18 to 20, the eta 1 and 2 are bent to cylindrical Shea A widening pa it wormed in the slot 4 of the sheet 1, while a hole 6 it formed in the confine of the slot 4 of the other sheet 2, naturally on the some level with the widening Say The sheets 1 and 2 are perpendicular to each other or at least cry directional in relation to each other in each solution and the widening 5 or hole 6 covering each other surround the jointing piece 3 or other suitable body like a cave; thus it can not fall out and the three pieces i.e. eta 1 and 2 and jointing piece 3 form a unit.
In order to insert the jointing Quacks thy part ox the sheets along the jointing piece is bent a one with dashed line in Figure 1, Bet it the 901ution where the bending it possible through the plastic deformation of the sheet, that it the sheet returns into it original Position after the jointing piece it inserted. In order to rewove tune onto piece, the part ox the sheet long the jointing piece is to bebe~.Such solution it 8190 conceivable, where the bending royalty in permanent deformation end aft ton insertion of thy jointing piece or other holding body, the sheet is bent back by hand.
