Abstract

"MéTODO PARA REDUZIR O CROMO HEXAVALENTE EM SóLIDOS, SEDIMENTOS, DESPEJOS INDUSTRIAIS E OUTROS MATERIAIS CONTAMINADOS USANDO-SE áCIDO ASCóRBICO" A concentração de cromo hexavalente potencialmente tóxico, {Cr(VI)}, em solos / materiais transportando cromo existente na forma de solos, lodos, sedimentos, aterros, despejos industriais, ou outros materiais é diminuída por aplicação e mistura de um simples agente redutor, ácido ascórbico, para efetuar redução química de Cr(VI) para um estado de valência menos tóxico. ácido ascórbico é adicionado em temperatura ambiente em solução ou pasta aquosa e misturado com materiais / solos transportando Cr(VI) em quantidades baseadas em resultados de teste de amostras representativas do material a ser tratato. ácido ascórbico também pode ser adicionado em uma forma seca se suficiente umidade está presente nos solos / materiais para permitir dissolução do ácido ascórbico e reação com o Cr(VI) no material. A porcentagem de redução da concentração de Cr(VI) é maior e é obtida mais rapidamente do que anteriormente reportado usando-se outros agentes redutores químicos orgânicos.
