Abstract

a presente invenção refere-se a um método para fermentar caules da família poaceae. isso inclui caules de cana-de-açúcar, sorgo e milho maís. esse método comprime caules entre rolos a entre 20% e 90% de seu diâmetro enquanto os caules estão submersos em uma solução aquosa de reagente. isso fratura os caules na direção axial sem perda significativa de suco durante extração simultânea da solução de reagente na rede resultante de rachaduras no tecido do parênquima. em algumas variantes, a solução aquosa de reagente contém organismos de fermentação, os açúcares se difundem das células do parênquima, entram em contato com os organismos de fermentação localizados nas rachaduras nos caules e produzem etanol e ácido láctico dentro dos caules. em algumas variantes, as combinações de enzimas, ácidos e reagente de fenton na solução aquosa de reagente se difundem na matriz lignocelulósica nos caules e degradam a mesma.
