Abstract
método e codificador para codificação de um sinal de áudio, dispositivo de comunicação, programa de computador, e, portador. são descritos codificador e método do mesmo para codificação de um sinal de áudio, em que um espectro de frequência do sinal de áudio é dividido em uma primeira e uma segunda regiões, em que pelo menos a segunda região compreende um número de bandas. adicionalmente, picos espectrais na primeira região são codificados por um primeiro método de codificação. o método aqui provido compreende: para um segmento do sinal de áudio: determinar uma relação entre uma energia de uma banda na segunda região e uma estimativa de energia da primeira região. o método compreende adicionalmente determinar uma relação entre a energia da banda na segunda região e uma energia de bandas vizinhas na segunda região. o método compreende adicionalmente determinar se um número de bits disponível é suficiente para codificação de pelo menos um segmento não pico da primeira região e da banda na segunda região. adicionalmente, quando as relações satisfizerem um respectivo critério predeterminado e o número de bits for suficiente, a banda na segunda região e o pelo menos um segmento da primeira região são codificados usando um segundo método de codificação. em outras circunstâncias, a banda na segunda região é, em vez disto, sujeita a bwe ou enchimento de ruído.
