resumo patente de invenção: "profundidade de ajuste em um sinal de imagem tridimensional". a presente invenção refere-se a um sistema para processar um sinal de imagem 3d. o sinal de imagem 3d compreende um sinal de imagem 2d (fig.4a) e um sinal auxiliar 2d (fig.4b), com o sinal auxiliar 2d possibilitando a renderização 3d do sinal de imagem 2d em um monitor 3d. o sistema compreende um subsistema de interface de usuário (180) para possibilitar um usuário para estabelecer uma região 2d definida de usuário (182) no sinal de imagem 2d; a definidor de região (140) para definir uma região 2d (142) no sinal auxiliar 2d, a região 2d correspondendo a uma região de exibição em um plano de exibição do monitor 3d quando 3d renderiza o sinal de imagem 2d; e um processador de profundidade (160) para i) obter um parâmetro de redução de profundidade, o parâmetro de redução de profundidade representando a quantidade desejada de redução de profundidade na região de exibição quando 3d renderiza o sinal de imagem 2d, e ii) derivar um valor de ajuste a partir do parâmetro de redução de profundidade. consequentemente, uma redução de profundidade na região de exibição pode ser estabelecida, a saber, ajustando os valores de sinal do sinal auxiliar 2d na região 2d baseada no valor de ajuste. o sistema pode ser vantajosamente usado para aplicar uma redução de profundidade para codificar sobreposições em um sinal de imagem 3d.
