Propylene oriented polymeric film is disclosed, whose oxygen barrier property is substantially improved. The improvement is achieved by incorporating in the composition of propylene polymer from which the film is made, of grafted copolymer material, comprising predominantly crystalline propylene polymer material, the polymer or polymers from which it has (in) grafts of polymerized monomeric material of a group that includes styrene, p-alkylstyrenes, acrylic acid, alkacrylic acids, alkyl alkacrylates, acrylonitrile and, with or without ethylene, vinyl acetate.
