Abstract

The battery is used as a current source for different applications in industry and the household. It is airtight, with reduced weight and larger capacity in comparison with well-known equal sized models and is made using considerably simplified and harmless technology. The battery consists of positive electrode of porous lead dioxide, electrolyte and negative electrode of metal foil. The negative electrode is made in the form of metal foil or in a plastic grating covered by metal with a nickel sublayer, deposited in vacuum, the electrodes being separated by silica gel of mocrograined structure and large active surface soaked in electrobyte-oversaturated solution of metal sulphate in sulphuric acid. The metal coating can be of copper, cadmium, zinc, nickel or iron.
