"Verbeterde stokdweil of zwabber".
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Improved mop or mop".
This invention relates to an improved stick mop or mop consisting of a stick with a mop of cable yarn at the end, and more particularly a stick mop of the type also called "wringing mop" in which the cable yarn is connected to the end of the pole and, on the other hand, with a handle which is slidable and rotatable along the pole, such that by twisting this handle the cable yarn can be twisted and wrung around the pole.
In particular, the invention relates to such a so-called wringing mop, wherein the mop of cable yarn is designed in a simple removable and replaceable manner.
Stick mops or mops of the aforementioned wringmop type are known which consist of a stick; a handle which is slidable and rotatable over this stick and a mop of cable yarn, the latter being tied on the one hand to the free end of the stick and on the other hand fixedly attached to one end of the aforementioned handle.
Although such a wringable stick mop is very convenient, it has the drawback that due to wear of the cable yarn after frequent use, it is impossible, or quite difficult, to replace this yarn. It is therefore clear that such a stick mop is less suitable for ordinary users, such as housewives who do not have the special ability to use a new

apply mop.
In order to overcome this drawback, the invention provides a stick mop or mop, more particularly a wringing mop, of the type consisting of a stick; a slidable and rotatable handle thereon and a mop of cable yarn between the bottom end of the stick and the bottom end of the handle, characterized in that the mop, on the one hand, is fixed in a head which is itself removable by means of means the lower end of the aforementioned stick and, on the other hand, is attached to the handle by means of means.
With the insight to better demonstrate the features according to the invention, a preferred embodiment is described below, by way of example without any limiting character, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: figure 1 shows in perspective the improved stick mop; Figure 2 shows the mounting of the mop in more detail; figure 3 represents a larger view of the part indicated by F3 in figure 2; figure 4 shows a section according to line IV-IV in figure 3j figure 5 shows a section according to line V-V in figure 3; figure 6 is a cross-sectional view of the part indicated by F6 in figure 2.
As shown in figure 1, the stick mop consists mainly of a stick 1 and an easily removable and replaceable mop 2 of cable yarn 3, which is connected with its lower end 4 to the stick 1 and with its upper end 5 on one over the stick 1 slidable and rotatable handle 6 is attached.
When wringing out the mop 2, stick the stick 1 firmly in the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
a number of fixed handles 7 are preferably arranged thereon.
The mounting of the mop 2 on the stick 1 is shown in Figures 2 t. e. m. 6 and mainly consists of a head 8 which is detachably mounted on the end of the stick 1 and in which the lower end 4 of the mop 2 is fixed, means 9 for fixing the head 8 on the stick 1 and means 10 to connect the top end 5 of the mop 2 to the rotatable and sliding handle 6.
The means 9 for fixing the head 8 detachably to the stick 1 preferably consists of a telescopic coupling of the head 8 with the stick 1. For this purpose, for example, the stick 1 is hollow, and consists, for example, of an aluminum tube, and the head 8 provided with a cylindrical end 11 which can be slid into the end of the tube.
The head 8 can then simply be locked on the stick 1 by means of a pin 12 which can be arranged through bores 13-14 transversely through the stick 1 and the cylindrical end 11. As shown in Figure 4, the pin 12 in this embodiment is held in place by providing it with a sickle-shaped elastic deformable head 15, which clamps around the stick 1 when the pin 12 is fitted.
The head 8 is preferably pot-shaped and is provided with a diametral pin 16, which may or may not be removable, behind which the cable yarn 3 can be guided. In the head 8, the cable yarn 3 can optionally still be tied together by means of a steel wire 17 or the like.
The means 10 for attaching the upper end of the mop 2 to the rotatable handle 6 are preferably formed on the one hand by a collar 18 provided on this handle 6 and on the other hand by an annular element 19 which can engage behind the collar 18 and to which the threads of the cable yarn 3 are sewn, for example by means of loops 19.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The annular element 18 in its simplest form consists of a steel wire knotted with both ends.
The mop 2 is removed as follows. First, the pin 12 is pulled out of the bores 13-14 and loosened far from the stick 1 according to the head 8. After this, the handle 6 and the mop 2 are slid off the stick 1, after which the annular element 19 is passed over the handle 6 and the handle 6 is pulled out between the cable yarns 3.
In the reverse manner, a new mop 2 can be fitted.
It is the intention that the means 10 can also consist of a fixed connection between the cable yarn 3 and the rotatable handle 6, wherein the head 8, the mop 2 and this handle 6 can then be used as a replacement and disposable article.
The present invention is by no means limited to the exemplary embodiment shown in the accompanying drawings, but such improved mop or mop can be accomplished in a variety of shapes and sizes without departing from the scope of the invention.
