<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

The present invention relates to a construction element intended for the production of slabs and specially designed for the construction of floors in private, public, industrial and civil engineering structures.
We know that to build a building of a certain importance we erect a reinforced concrete frame or a metal frame and we establish the horizontal separations, or floors and terraces, as the frame rises and finally, partitions or dividing walls are erected in accordance with the planned layout of the premises.
Currently there are various methods of building floors which can be monolithic or none
First of all, it is known to build monolithic floors by pouring concrete directly onto a temporary, removable formwork made of wood or metal and supported by props. In this way, we obtain a resistant floor but very heavy because it is built in solid concrete; furthermore, its constitution favors the generation and transmission of noise and the construction process employed is long and expensive since it requires a lot of labor.
So it was planned to have cardboard tubes directly on the frames and then pour concrete over the whole; butcoma these tubes are lighter than concrete, they tend to float so that before pouring concrete it is necessary to fix them to the reinforcements.Such a hollow monolithic floor is light, soundproof, but its construction requires additional labor -work for fixing the tubes, which has the effect of slowing down the work which remains dependent on all the problems resulting from. ' the execution of formwork and shoring.
According to another construction, a monolithic floor can
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
be obtained from concrete slabs fitted with reinforcements, prefabricated in the factory, and assembled on the site to constitute a permanent formwork on which the concrete layer is poured directly according to a thickness determined by the calculation.
Such a floor thus constructed is monolithic and comparable to a solid slab which would have been constructed on a wooden formwork, but it has the drawback of being relatively heavy when the concrete thickness is great.
On the other hand, it is also known to build monolithic floors from hourdi: 3 hollow prefabricated in the factory and placed side by side at the place of use. Such a floor is built quickly with little labor, but it generally does not have an effective transverse connection between the various constituent elements which can thus be stressed differently from one another; as a result, between the slabs cracks arise which are troublesome and, so propagate in the ceiling.
Whatever their construction method, current floors are not entirely satisfactory.
The present invention which has. as an aim of eliminating the drawbacks of known floors, consists of a structural element characterized in that it consists of a concrete plate, prefabricated, at least partially encasing longitudinal and transverse reinforcements, on the upper face of which insulating elements of low specific weight are arranged and fixed to fittings embedded in the plate directly in the factory so as to allow the realization of a hollow floor only by placing side by side identical construction elements and casting a layer of concrete directly on the said insulating elements.
According to a feature, the insulating elements are arranged
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
parallel to the longitudinal reinforcements.
According to another characteristic, the reinforcements of a plate comprise on the one hand a metal lattice beam prefabricated in the factory and made up of longitudinal bars to which braces are welded and, on the other hand, additional reinforcements made up of longitudinal bars and stirrups.
To take up the stresses on the plates during handling, the metal lattice beam is placed at mid-width of the plate while the additional reinforcements are arranged along each of the longitudinal sides.
According to another feature, the insulating elements of low specific weight have a simple geometric section, circular or otherwise, and are formed, for example, by an expanded plastic material. In a preferred embodiment, these insulating elements are cardboard tubes which can be attached to the fittings directly in the factory or at the place of use, by any known means and for example by metal wires.
Other particularities may appear in the following description of the appended figure which is a schematic, partial, perspective view of a construction element according to the invention.
From the figure, it can be seen that a construction element comprises a concrete plate 2 partially encasing longitudinal and transverse reinforcements. The longitudinal reinforcements comprise in the middle of the plate a metal lattice beam 8 formed by braces 11 welded directly in the factory to longitudinal bars 9 and 10 made of high resistance steel. In addition, along each of the two edges la, routes are
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
locate additional stirrup reinforcements 3 and 4, the constituent elements of which include round longitudinal bars
5 and 6 ligated or welded and brackets 5a.
A transverse reinforcement 7a housed in the plate is also formed by high strength reinforcing bars; this reinforcement 7 with longitudinal bars 7a constitutes a square mesh lattice or another forming The median lattice beam 8 and the complementary reinforcements 3 and 4 are only partially housed in the concrete plate 2 so that the cross members 11 , the bars 5 and the brackets 5a emerge from the plate, which is advantageous for handling the plate by an ad-hoc lifting device.
On the upper face 2a of the plate 2 are attached directly in the factory, rigid tubes 12 of waterproofed cardboard, arranged longitudinally, parallel to the longitudinal edges, between the complementary reinforcements 3 and 4 and the lattice beam 8; these tubes are attached by any means gonnu such as, for example, by a metal wire 13 to fittings 13a embedded in the plate directly in the factory; this way we realize a permanent fiction of the tubes 12.
In certain special cases, provision is made to place the tubes and to attach them to the fittings 13a when the plates are already in place on the site.
The construction of a floor using construction elements such as the one just described is. Impious ..
The elements brought to the site are put in place side by side and summarily slender transverse reinforcements are optionally placed perpendicular to the contact plane of the plates, then finally concrete is poured over the whole until the tubes 12 are covered, the lattice beam 8 and the additional reinforcements 3 and 4. As soon as the concrete layer is hardened, the
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
prop up. A trellis is advantageously housed in the upper part of the layer of concrete poured over the tubes.
The floor thus obtained does not require formwork; it is soundproofed by the thickness of cardboard lining the hollows; it has a much lower density than that of solid slabs.
