<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
REVENDICATIONS.

"Pneumatic pressure cap".
The object of the invention is a stopper whose adhesion to the container which it closes is ensured by the fact that its side wall is subjected to a permanent pressure developed automatically by the sole fact of the application of the stopper on the container. .
The stopper is essentially characterized in that it comprises at least one resilient hollow body open from the bottom and a gripping head. The shape and the external dimensions of said elastic hollow body are determined according to the entry of the container to be closed.
Tight closure is ensured by virtue of the principle of such an elastic hollow stopper being placed on the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
container defines a free space above the contents which is gradually reduced by the introduction of the stopper into the container. This volume reduction necessarily corresponds to an increase in the pressure of the air and / or gases and / or vapors overcoming said content. This pressure normally acts on the wall of the hollow body and systematically applies it against the adjacent part of the wall of the container. As the wall of the body of the stopper is elastic, it therefore ensures a perfectly sealed closure under practically constant pneumatic pressure.
The hollow body of the stopper may have a wall of constant or variable thickness. Preferably, the elastic wall will be progressively of decreasing thickness from the head towards its lower free edge so as to have greater elasticity to the right of the latter, which is favorable to better closure. It is therefore possible to produce a conical wall either inward or outward, or both on both sides, and the taper can be directed / upwards or downwards.
Such a stopper can be made in one piece or by the juxtaposition of the elastic body and a rigid head.
Generally, this stopper will be made of a transparent or opaque elastic molding material.
By way of example, without any limiting nature, neither of the embodiments nor of the possible applications, certain executions are described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
In these drawings, FIG. 1 shows, in perspective view, a pheumatic pressure stopper, according to the invention, executed in its simplest form. It consists
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
by a tubular body with an elastic wall, open at the bottom and at the top extended by a head 1 formed, for example, by a flat cylindrical mass.
As shown schematically in Figures 2, 3 and 4, this plug operates as follows: the tubular chamber ?. is fitted in the neck 3. of the container 4 in the manner of an ordinary stopper.
As a result, a compression chamber is automatically created delimited by the inner part of the neck surmounting the contents of the container and said tubular chamber. As shown schematically in FIG. 3, the adjustment of the lower part of the tubular chamber in the upper part of the neck 3, determines a first closure occluding the air in the compression chamber. By continuing to push the stopper into the neck 3, the height H becoming h (FIG. 4), the space of the compression chamber has been proportionally reduced and, ipso facto, increased the air pressure in said chamber.
As a result, the tubular wall ± is subjected to a radial pressure directed from the inside to the outside and, as this wall is elastic, the result is a perfectly sealed closure between the stopper and the corresponding part of the container. By removing the plug, the pressure chamber is again increased, resulting in a reduction of the internal pressure and thus a gradual increase in the release of the plug.
Such a stopper is not only of great efficiency but it offers the advantage of being of extremely simple industrial manufacture and of being of an extraordinarily low weight so that its cost price is also very low.
The elastic wall forming the body of the stopper and the head forming the gripping element can be of absolutely any shape and dimensions and be exactly adapted to each bare orifice in each container to be blocked, provided that the body or part of the body of the cork is sufficient

elastically deformable and in communication with the free space surmounting the contents of the container.
The flower schematizes in half-elevation view and in radial half-section a plug in which the outer elastic wall 2 'is cylindrical and the inner wall 2' 'is conical; FIG. 6 shows an embodiment in which it is the outer wall 2 'which is conical and the inner wall 2' 'which is cylindrical; in FIG. 7, the thickness of the elastic wall 2 is constant over its entire height, but this wall is frustoconical and flared towards its free edge; in figure 8, the outer wall 2 'is cylindrical and the inner wall 2' 'is cylindro-conical; in FIG. 9, the outer wall 2 'is cylindrical and the inner wall 2' 'is barrel-shaped, so that the most elastically deformable part is transferred towards the middle of the wall.
As we can see, we can realize many variations, which could still be completed by modifications? in the shape and dimensions of the party 2. and / or by providing any accessories deemed useful.
FIG. 10 shows schematically a variant in which the compression chamber 5 of the stopper is more enclosed by the fact that the elastic wall 2 is completed below by a base ±. having, for example, a central orifice 7. It is possible, by this arrangement, to increase the sensitivity of the elastic body
Finally, simply (the example, FIG. 11 is a diagram, in half-elevation view and in radial cutaway, such a pneumatic pressure cap, in which the head 1 is profiled so as to cover the rim of the neck of the container.
All these executions are given only for documentary purposes and the object of the invention can easily be applied in practically infinite forms.

According to a dominant characteristic of the invention, such elastic plugs can be produced in a single piece, the head being generally solid and extended by the relatively thin-walled tubular element forming the elastic body.
