La présente invention a pout but d'éliminer cet inconvénient.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

"Method for treating blunt dental milling machines, files and the like".

Until now, it has been customary to mechanically re-sharpen blunt dental milling machines, files or similar instruments. For this purpose, these instruments had to be sent to special installations equipped with the special machines required for this treatment. This made the re-sharpening of such instruments very expensive, especially when it came to sending them abroad.

The present invention aims to eliminate this drawback. Its object is a process for re-sharpening

dental milling machines, files and the like by treating them with solutions containing a mineral acid or a mixture of mineral acids, said process being characterized in that the solution further contains a substance containing peroxidase, this substance being, for example, constituted by juice obtained by pressing potatoes, by milk or blood.

According to a particular slow efficient embodiment of the invention, the treatment solution consists of 1 part by volume of an acid mixture consisting of equal parts by weight of 2% HNO3 and H2SO4 at 30% and in 2 parts by volume of milk. The instruments are kept in this solution for 1 to 15 hours depending on the degree of bluntness and the size of the cutting edges of said instruments. Thanks to this treatment, the instruments once again acquire their sharpness and their beautiful smooth surfaces.
The treatment is preferably carried out in wide and shallow vessels, in which the gases generated can easily escape from the solution.

It is already known that iron and steel dissolve in mineral acids, while ferrous ions are generated in solution. However, it is surprising that this phenomenon can be used, in accordance with the present invention, for the re-sharpening of dental instruments, thanks to the addition to the acid solution of the aforementioned substances. If milk is used, it must be fresh, that is, the Scharinger test must give a positive reaction.

The invention has been described above, by way of example, in its application to dental instruments. It can, however, be used for the

dressing of similar instruments, such as watchmaker's files and the like.

   CLAIMS
1. Process for resharpening dental milling machines, files and other similar instruments by treating these instruments with a solution containing a mineral acid or a mixture of mineral acids, characterized in that the aforementioned solution contains in addition, a substance containing peroxidase, this substance being constituted, for example, by juice obtained by squeezing potatoes, by milk or by blood.
