SOMMIER ELASTIQUE ECONOMIQUE.
La présente invention est relative à un sommier élastique spécialement destiné aux lits,divans, chaises-longues,etc., mais susceptible d'être adapté également aux sièges de tous genres,
Ce sommier se- caractérise essentiellement .en ce que les éléments-élastiques: transversaux et longitudinaux, qu'il comprend, sont constitués par des lanières ou bandes sans fin en caoutchouc, reliées entre'elles et au cadre du sommier par des crochets métal- liques,o, équivalents,amovibles,de manière telle qutelles se trouvent constamment sous tension. En outre entre deux crochets succes- sifs deséléments élastique s, le nombre des lanières ou bandes sans fin peut varier suivant le poids à supporter et le degré de souplesse désiré par exemple.
On possède ainsi un moyen de réglage très simple et très rapide.
Par rapport aux sommiers élastiques connus,et spécialement par rapport aux sommiers comportant des bandes en caoutchouc,le sommier conforme à l'invention présente l'avantage d'une fabrica- tion très économique et ne nécessitant aucune main d'oeuvre spécia- lisée; en outre les bandes élastiques usagées se remplacent aisément par simple accrochage de bandes nouvelles aux crochets.
Le dessin annexé à ce mémoire montre, à titre d'exemple, uniquement, une forme dtexécution du nouveau sommier élastique.

Dans un cadre constitué de préférence par des tubes métalliques soudés 1 et 2,mais pouvant être formé éventuellement par des cornières ou même en bois, sont forés des trous 3 percés à une - certaine distance ltune de l'autre,soit par exemple dix centimètres, pour les tubes longitudinaux. l'une des pointes d'un crochet métallique double 4, auquel on accroche d'autre part une ou plusieurs lanières sans fin 5 en caoutchoue, deux par exemple comme le montre Fig.2, découpées par exemple dans un boyau en caoutchouc de dimensions appropriées.
Le nombre de ces lanières pourra varier à volonté suivant le poids à supporter, le degré de souplesse désiré,etc. Ces lanières 5 sont raccordées par un crochet intermédiaire 4 à deux autres lanières sans fin 5 en caoutchouc fixées elles-mêmes à un crochet identique pénétrant dans un trou correspondant 3 du longeron opposé 1.
Ainsi dans l'exemple représenté au dessin, chaque élément élastique transversal est constitué par tro&s crochets 4 et quatre lanières 5 en caoutchouc.Cette construction pourra être modifiée suivant les dimensions du sommier et sa destination.
Longitudinalement on n'a prévu,dans le cas présent,que deux éléments élastiques constitués chacun par deux lanières sans fin en caoutchouc 5 réunies par un crochet intermédiaire spécial 6,formé dt une longue tige à bouts recourbés, eteliées aux traverses 2 par des crochets 4. Les éléments élastiques longitudinaux,de construction variable à volonté comme celle des éléments transversaux,sont disposés avantageusement au-dessus de ces derniers.
La simplicité de cette construction et de son mode de réglage, ainsi que la facilité des réparations éventuelles par simple accrochage des lanières élastiques sans fin aux crochets 4et 6 sont des avantages essentiels du sommier de l'invention. Mais il importe de noter que les lanières 5 se trouvent constamment sous tension ,ce , qui distingue ce sommier d'autres sommiers faisant usage de ressorts qui ne sont tendus que chargés.
Revendications.
1. Sommier élastique économique comportant des lanières ou bandes en caoutchouc, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend des éléments élastiques transversaux et longitudinaux constitués chacun par des lanières ou bandes élastiques sans fin reliées entre elles et au cadre du sommier par des crochets amovibles,de manière telle qu'elles se trouvent constamment sous tension.

The number of these straps may vary at will depending on the weight to be supported, the degree of flexibility desired, etc. These straps 5 are connected by an intermediate hook 4 to two other endless rubber straps 5 themselves fixed to an identical hook entering a corresponding hole 3 of the opposite spar 1.
Thus in the example shown in the drawing, each transverse elastic element is constituted by three hooks 4 and four strips 5 of rubber. This construction can be modified according to the dimensions of the bed base and its destination.
Longitudinally, in the present case, only two elastic elements have been provided, each consisting of two endless rubber straps 5 joined by a special intermediate hook 6, formed of a long rod with curved ends, and linked to the crosspieces 2 by hooks 4. The longitudinal elastic elements, of variable construction at will like that of the transverse elements, are advantageously arranged above the latter.
The simplicity of this construction and of its mode of adjustment, as well as the ease of any repairs by simply hooking the endless elastic straps to the hooks 4 and 6 are essential advantages of the base of the invention. But it is important to note that the straps 5 are constantly under tension, which distinguishes this bed base from other bed bases making use of springs which are only tensioned when loaded.
Claims.
1. Economic elastic base comprising strips or rubber bands, characterized in that it comprises transverse and longitudinal elastic elements each consisting of endless elastic straps or bands connected to each other and to the frame of the base by removable hooks, of such that they are constantly under tension.
