Abstract

Verbeterde afdichting (1) voor het afdichten van onderling ten opzichte van elkaar bewegende delen (8-10), daardoor gekenmerkt dat de verbeterde afdichting (1) hoofdzakelijk bestaat uit, enerzijds, een ringvormig metalen element (2) met een dwarsdoorsnede die gevormd wordt door een eerste hoofdzakelijk U-vormig of C-vormig gedeelte (4) met twee benen (5,6) aan weerszijden van het vlak (X-X') van de afdichting (1) en een daarmee verbonden tweede lipvormig gedeelte (7) en, anderzijds, middelen (3) die toelaten om bij een samendrukking van de afdichting volgens een richting dwars op het voornoemde vlak (X-X') van de afdichting (1) het lipvormig gedeelte (7) weg te duwen van het U-vormig of C-vormig gedeelte (4).
