  Apparatus and method for filtering an auxiliary liquid. This invention relates to a device and method for filtering an auxiliary liquid, more particularly a liquid which is used as a liquid for cooling and / or lubricating and / or removing the machined material when performing grinding, sawing and milling operations. product.



  In particular, the invention is intended for the removal of abrasives and the like of stone or glass from an auxiliary liquid.



  When grinding stone, more especially natural stone, it is known that the auxiliary liquid, together with the abrasive contained therein, is collected in a container in the form of a container.



  The sharps consist of a heavy powder, which settles very quickly in the container. A heavy sludge layer is therefore created at the bottom of the container and must be removed regularly.



  The sludge layer is removed by scooping the sludge from the tank. The drawback of this technique is that it is cumbersome. Another drawback of this is that the entire installation has to be shut down, since too much grinding is resuspended during scooping to permanently suck liquid from the container at that time and use it again for cooling or the like.

  The present invention contemplates a device for filtering an auxiliary liquid which permits a very efficient filtering, especially in the case where heavy powdery sharps and the like have to be filtered out of the liquid, with which, moreover, the aforementioned drawbacks of the above-described known device can be overcome. excluded.



  To this end, the invention relates to a device for filtering an auxiliary liquid, characterized in that it mainly consists of a pipe system; means for passing the liquid to be filtered through this piping system; at least one filter included in this piping system provided with a filter element; and a collecting space cooperating with the filter to collect the products retained on the filter element and to remove them, directly or indirectly, from the pipe system.



  The combination of a filter and a collection space creates the possibility of regularly freeing the filter, which normally clogs quickly with heavy powdered grinding, from the retained product, whereby this product is then collected in the collection space.



  The invention also relates to a method for filtering an auxiliary liquid, using the aforementioned and further described device, characterized in that it consists of circulating the auxiliary liquid to be filtered through the pipe system; regularly releasing the filter element of the products withheld from it; and thereby collecting the released products in the receiving area.

  As shown in figure 1, the device 1 according to the invention is mainly intended to be used in or with an device 2 for sawing and / or grinding stone 3, more particularly natural stone, or the like.



  In this case the device 2 comprises a processing machine 4, for instance with a grinding wheel 5, and a liquid circuit co-operating therewith, hereinafter referred to as main circuit 6, for circulating an auxiliary liquid 7, usually water.



  By means of the main circuit 6, the auxiliary liquid 7 is drawn from a receptacle 8, by means of a pump 9, and brought via a line 10 to the processing machine 4, where this auxiliary liquid 7 fits over the grinding wheel 5 and / or the stone to be treated. 3, or the like.   Preferably, the collecting space 17 is located below the filter element 16, so that the product 18 retained on the filter element 16, as described below, can easily be brought into the collecting space 17 by gravity.



  As shown, the filter element 16 preferably has a wall 19 which extends obliquely in height, this wall 19 being inclined inwards according to the general flow direction V. More particularly, it is preferred that the filter element 16 has a shape as shown in Figure 2, in other words, it has a conical wall 19, with a conicity such that a narrowing occurs upwards.   The filter element 16 here consists of a membrane. In order to be able to withstand the great pressures that occur, this membrane according to the invention is supported by a permeable support structure 21 which, as shown in more detail in figure 3, preferably consists of perforated plate. Depending on the application, this support structure 21 will be further supported by additional support elements 22.



  The support structure 21 and the filter element 16 have a corresponding shape, in other words the filter element 16 fits exactly against the inside of the support structure 21.



  The filter element 16 preferably consists of a fabric, cloth or the like, which is made of monofilaments.



  The use of such monofilaments offers the advantage that a very smooth surface is obtained in which the sharps or the like cannot settle.



  Moreover, by means of these monofilaments it is possible to create a filter cloth whose filter openings are very small and can be realized with very precise dimensions.



  The filter element 16 and the collection space 17 are housed in, respectively bounded by, a height-extending housing 23, consisting of a base part 24 in which the collection space 17 is located, and a cylindrical cap 25 which surrounds the filter element 16 and the support structure. 21.

 One or more entrances 26 are arranged in the housing 23, more particularly in the base part 24. Several entrances 26 are preferably provided circumferentially, whereby a uniform inflow of the auxiliary liquid 7 to be filtered is obtained. These entrances 26 open into housing 23 at places located between the collecting space 17 and the filter element 16, in other words the collecting space 17 is lower than the entrances 26.



  The filtered auxiliary liquid 7 is returned to the receptacle 8 via a conduit 27. This conduit 27 connects to an outlet 28 arranged on the housing 23. This outlet 28 is, as shown, preferably at the top of the housing. It is noted that the space 29 behind the support structure 21 preferably widens in the direction of the exit 28.



  The device 2 is provided with means which make it possible to empty the collection space 17. In the example of Figure 1, these means consist in that the collecting space 17 contains one or more demountable parts 30-31, such that by disassembling this the product 18 collected in the collecting space 17 can be removed.



  Furthermore, the device is preferably also provided with auxiliary means for detaching the retained products 18 from the filter element 16. In the embodiment of figure 1, means are used for this purpose to create a counterflow by means of compressed air through the filter element 16. To this end, the device 2 is provided with a connection 32 for compressed air which spouts in the aforementioned space 29. Furthermore, associated valves 33 and 34 are provided, respectively in the pipe 27 and at the location of the connection 32.

  In the aforementioned receptacle 8 means, such as a stirrer or pump 35, are arranged to keep the auxiliary liquid 7 moving, such that all the product 18, in other words all the abrasive material, is sucked into the pipe 10.



  The operation of the whole of figure 1 is as follows.



  Via the main circuit 6, the processing machine 4 is permanently supplied with auxiliary liquid 7 from the container 8.



  The contaminated auxiliary liquid 7 is passed through the filter 15 via the pipe system 13. As a result, the product 18 deposits against the inner wall of the filter element 16. Over time, the flow in the pipe system 13 is stopped by switching off the pump 14. As a result, the product 18 falls down into the collecting space 17. The detachment of product 18, which may still be present against the inside of the filter element 16, can be done by blowing compressed air through the filter element 16 in counter-current, for this purpose the valve 33 is opened for a certain period of time and the valve 34 is closed.



  The pipe system 13 can then be put back into use. The product 18 present in the receiving space 17 remains there due to its weight.



  The above-mentioned operation can be repeated several times until the collecting space 17, which therefore also functions as a collecting space, is full. After this it should be

  The aforementioned aids for detaching the product 18 from the filter element 16 can also be carried out in another way. Fig. 4 shows, for example, a variant in which means are used for this purpose with which the filter element 16 can be deformed, which in this case consist of a pressure cylinder 36 with a piston rod 37 with which the filter element 16 can be pressed downwards. As shown, this can optionally be combined with the compressed air connection 32.



  Other embodiments are also possible, such as means for vibrating the filter element 16, means for briefly passing the auxiliary liquid 7 in counter-current through the filter element 16, or a combination of one or more of these means.



  Figure 4 also shows that the means allowing to empty the collection space 17 can also be realized in another way. In this case, the collection space 17 is provided with a shut-off valve 38, more specifically a shut-off slide. This valve 38 can either be operated manually or, as shown in Figure 4, be equipped with an actuator, in this case a pressure cylinder 39 for automatically sliding the valve 38.



  It is clear that all the aforementioned actions can also be fully automated.

 According to a variant, the device 1 can also form part of the main circuit 6. In this case, the pump 9 is not present and the auxiliary liquid 7 is supplied from the outlet 28 to the processing machine 4.



  According to a variant not shown, a plurality of filters 15 can be arranged around one receiving space 17, for example one filter 15 centrally located as shown in figure 1, and several other similar filters 15 arranged obliquely around it.



  The pipe system 13 can have very limited dimensions. Optionally, the filter can be mounted in or on the container.



  Instead of using stirring means, the container can also be provided with a funnel-shaped bottom, with the pipe system 13 starting at the bottom of the bottom.



  The concept of collecting space is to be interpreted broadly and may also consist of a discharge opening which is opened every time product 18 is removed from the filter element 16, so that the product 18 is discharged directly outside.



  The filter element 16 preferably has a height of a few 10 centimeters.



  The present invention is by no means limited to the exemplary embodiments described and shown in the figures, but such a method and device for filtering an auxiliary liquid can be realized in various variants without departing from the scope of the invention.
