Abstract
[Problem] To provide a staircase lower structure capable of effectively utilizing a space and achieving both work from home and watching of a child. [Solution] A staircase lower structure 1 has a straight part 10 at least not folded back, is adjacent to a living room 5, and is formed under a staircase 2 connecting a lower floor and an upper floor. The staircase lower structure 1 includes: a gradient ceiling 3 formed on a lower side of the straight part 10; and a staircase lower space 4 formed under a staircase including at least a lower side of the gradient ceiling 3. The staircase lower space 4 is arranged on the lower side of the gradient ceiling 3 and separated into two spaces by a spandrel wall 17 rising from a floor surface 13 of the lower floor. The two spaces are a child space 7 arranged on a low side of the gradient ceiling 3 and a work space 6 arranged on a high side of the gradient ceiling 3 and having a desk top plate 27 protruding from the spandrel wall 17.

According to the first aspect of the present application, the stairs include at least the
linear part without a turn, and the under-stairs space including the sloped ceiling formed at
the underside of the linear part is divided into the two spaces by the wainscot, and the two

Claims (9)
1. An under-stairs structure formed under stairs, the stairs including at least a linear part
without a turn and a landing, the stairs being positioned inside a habitable room, the linear
part and the landing being placed lower than a ceiling of the habitable room, and the stairs 2024203328
connecting a lower floor and an upper floor, the under-stairs structure comprising:
a sloped ceiling formed at an underside of the linear part;
a horizontal ceiling formed at an underside of the landing; and
an under-stairs space formed under the stairs to include at least under the sloped
ceiling and the horizontal ceiling, wherein
the under-stairs space is divided into two spaces by a half wall placed under the
sloped ceiling and standing from a floor surface of the lower floor,
the two spaces are a child space positioned at a side where the sloped ceiling is lower,
and a workspace positioned at a side where the sloped ceiling is higher and under the
horizontal ceiling, and including a desk top board projecting from the half wall, and
the child space is open toward the habitable room, a part of the landing lower than the
ceiling of the habitable room is open toward the habitable room, and a first partition wall with
joinery including a transparent part installed is provided between the workspace and the
habitable room.
2. The under-stairs structure according to Claim 1, wherein a transparent plate is
provided to stand on the half wall, and
an upper end of the transparent plate continues to the sloped ceiling.
3. The under-stairs structure according to Claim 2, wherein the child space is open 27 Aug 2025
toward the habitable room, and a first partition wall with joinery installed thereto is provided
between the workspace and the habitable room, and
the under-stairs space is entirely closed at a side opposite to the habitable room by a

4. The under-stairs structure according to Claim 3, wherein the joinery includes a
transparent part.
5. The under-stairs structure according to Claim 1, wherein the workspace is formed to
face an external wall at a side opposite to the child space, and
a clerestory is formed along the external wall.
6. The under-stairs structure according to Claim 5, wherein the clerestory is openable
and closable.
7. The under-stairs structure according to Claim 5, wherein a custom-made shelf storage
is formed along the external wall below the clerestory.
8. The under-stairs structure according to Claim 3, wherein the child space is a space
surrounded by the floor surface of the lower floor, the sloped ceiling, the half wall and the
transparent plate, and a vertical wall surface provided at an opposite side to the half wall, and
an open boundary between the child space and the habitable room has an upper edge
formed in a mountain-like shape by a first slope part along the sloped ceiling, and a second
slope part having an inverse slope of the first slope part.
9. The under-stairs structure according to Claim 3, wherein a ceiling backside of the
sloped ceiling or the second partition wall includes a structure having sound proofing
properties.
