Description

A RE-USABLE INSULATED BEVERAGE AND FOOD CONTAINER ARRANGEMENT, AND METHODS OF CONTAINING, DISPENSING AND HANDLING OF BEVERAGE AND FOOD CONTAINED THEREIN SAID ARRANGEMENT
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] This invention relates to a re-usable insulated beverage and food container, adapted to contain both food and beverage within a single enclosure to which the beverage and food sections when required can also be separated one from the other for the contents therein to be consumed independently of the other.
[002] More particular, this invention relates to an environmental multi-functional container that will allow convenient insulated storage, transportation and dispensing of both food and beverage from the one initially single main body, which is then dividable up into individual separate insulated compartments containing the respective beverage and food stuffs therein.
BACKGROUND ART DISCUSSION
[003] While there is already in the marketplace a wide range of drinking bottles, flasks and the like, which are adapted to contain beverages therein, along with equally as many insulated containers that can temporarily store food stuffs, it would be particularly advantageous if it was possible, say for example when travelling out in amongst the great outdoors, that there would be a simple, easy to carry and dispense therefrom container that could handle both beverage as well as food.
[004] So for the traveller and outdoor adventurer, instead of having to accommodate a means by which beverages could be kept hot and cold and so too a separate container for housing and insulating food stuffs, it would be an advantage to be able to make available to members of the public a re-usable beverage and food container arrangement that would allow both the user’s beverage and food to be stored conveniently in the one single container but importantly ultimately then also allow for independent handling and dispensing of both the food and beverage as required by the use from this one originally single structure.
[005] Accordingly, it is an object of this invention to make available such an environmentally friendly re-usable insulated beverage and food container arrangement that will be designed so as to allow for a container that can appropriately house and insulate both beverage and food stuff from a single original container that can then be divided into insulated independent food and beverage sections.
[006] Further objects and advantages of this invention will become apparent from a complete reading of the following specification.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[007] In one form of the invention there is provided a reusable beverage and food container arrangement for simultaneous and independent insulated storage of a beverage and a food stuff for consumption therefrom said beverage and food container arrangement by a user, the beverage and food container arrangement including: [008] a main body, said main body separately dividable into an upper flask arrangement and a lower food stuff receptacle arrangement; [009] said upper flask arrangement including an open neck section sealable by a leak-proof cap, said upper flask arrangement further including a base section configured to fastenably/receivably engage with an upper edge of the lower food stuff receptacle of the beverage and food container arrangement so as to allow said upper flask arrangement and lower food stuff receptacle to be fixably joined together as a single body and as selectable by a user to be independently separable one from the other as required by the user; [010] said lower food receptacle arrangement including an opening at an upper edge engageable with a user graspable re-sealable lid, such that when the upper flask arrangement and the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement are separated independently one from the other, the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement remains sealed and insulated by the user graspable re-sealable lid.
[011] In preference the main body of the beverage and food container arrangement is separately dividable and re-sealable between the upper flask arrangement and the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement by a thread arrangement.
[012] In preference the base section of the upper flask arrangement includes a collar extension with a thread arrangement thereon, wherein the thread arrangement of the collar extension emanating from the base section of the upper flask arrangement engages with a thread arrangement on the upper edge of the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement so that the base section of the upper flask arrangement and the upper section of the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement are fixably or releasably separable one from the other.
[013] In preference the collar extension emanating from the base section of the upper flask arrangement includes an internal thread arrangement which is adapted to engage with an external thread arrangement of the upper edge of the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement.
[014] In preference the base section of the upper flask arrangement is generally cylindrical and/or circular and wherein the upper edge of the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement is of a corresponding cylindrical or circular shape configuration with comparative dimensions to that of the base section of the upper flask arrangement.
[015] In preference the user-graspable re-sealable lid adapted to engage the upper edge of the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement includes a thread arrangement adapted to mate with a thread arrangement of the upper edge of the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement.
[016] In preference the thread arrangement of the user-graspable re-sealable lid is externally located about the peripheral rim of the user-graspable re-sealable lid so as to engage with a threaded arrangement on an internal side of the upper edge of the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement thereby allowing the lid to be contained therein or flushed with the top of the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement opening.
[017] In preference a user is able to engage with the user-graspable re-sealable lid by way of a raisable handle configured into the body of the user-graspable resealable lid and/or by dimples or the like profiled into the top of the user-graspable resealable lid to which the fingers and/or thumb of a user can engage.
[018] In preference the upper flask arrangement, leak-proof cap sealable about the open neck section of the upper flask arrangement, the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement and/or the user-graspable re-sealable lid adapted to engage with the upper edge of the lower food stuff receptacle arrangement are double walled.
[019] In preference the double wall of the components making up the beverage and food container arrangement are vacuum insulated.
[020] In preference the beverage and food container arrangement further includes a handle to assist the user handling the main body of the beverage and food container including mounting the beverage and food container to a back-pack and the like through the handle.
[021] In preference the beverage and food container further includes a mounting arrangement adapted to receive a utensil implement that can be attachable to the beverage and food container arrangement.
[022] In preference the utensil implement is a single item containing the functionality of a fork at one end and a spoon at the other end.
[023] In preference the beverage and food container arrangement is made of stainless steel and the threaded arrangements included as part of the engagement between the componentry of the main body of the beverage and food container arrangement are made from appropriately substantially non-degradable resilient rubber, plastic and the like so as to provide a tight fixed environmentally insulated sealed arrangement when the individual sections of the main body of the beverage and food container arrangement are brought together, one with respect to the other.
[024] An advantage of such an arrangement is that those wishing to both consume a beverage and food stuff during their travels will now be able to do so utilising one container arrangement that will be able to uniquely insulate separately and ultimately independently, the beverage to be drunk and the food stuff to be eaten.
[025] Advantageously, by introducing a lid to close off the upper edge of the food stuff receptacle at the base of the beverage and food container means that the beverage and food container arrangement of this invention can provide for two separate insulated articles, that being a drink bottle for insulating cold or hot beverages but also importantly a separate food stuff receptacle which will allow the contents to also remain fully insulated once the food stuff receptacle is separated from the flask or bottle section of the overall beverage and food container arrangement.
[026] By allowing the lid to nest internally within the upper edge of the food stuff receptacle means that the lid can remain flush along the top edge of the food stuff receptacle so that when the food stuff receptacle needs to be inserted into the base of the upper flask arrangement it can be conveniently threaded therein without the potential for the lid to be rotated and thereby inadvertently disengaging the insulated seal.
[027] In order now to describe the invention in greater detail a series of preferred embodiments will be presented with the assistance of the following illustrations and accompanying text.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[035] The re-usable insulated beverage and food container arrangement of a preferred embodiment of the invention is shown generally as (10).
[036] Looking externally at a general perspective view in Figure 1, the beverage and food container arrangement (10) has a main body which is made up of dividable independent compartments including the upper flask section (12) and the lower food stuff receptacle (14) which as best seen in Figure 1 are profiled to come together in a fastening configuration and then as required as shown in Figures 5a and 5b, to separate into independent insulated articles.
[037] As best seen in Figure 2, the upper flask section (12) includes a neck section (21) that, through a threaded arrangement, engages with a leak-proof cap (16).
[038] The flask or bottle section (12) of the beverage and food container arrangement (10), as with all the other components of the container, is double walled shown as (19) and (20) in Figure 2, wherein the double wall includes an insulated vacuum, thereby substantially assisting to keep the beverage contained within the hollow section (27) of the flask section (12) and hollow section (29) of the food stuff receptacle (14) insulated.
[039] The beverage and food container arrangement (10) also includes a handle (18) mounted to the beverage and food container arrangement (10) at mounts (41a) and (41b). The handle (18) can assist in holding and comfortably transporting the beverage and food container and where need be also provides for a vantage mount to which the beverage and food container arrangement (10) of the invention can then be mounted in preferred embodiments to travel items such as a back-pack and the like.
[040] Importantly in this invention the upper flask section (12) at the base includes a collar extension shown as (23), which has a thread configuration (24) that matches with the thread arrangement (25) of the food stuff receptacle (14) to threadably allow the food stuff receptacle (14) and the flask section (12) to be joined and then, when required by a user, independently separable as shown in Figures 5a and 5b.
[041] Uniquely also, the lid shown as (22) which closes off the opening of the upper edge of the food stuff receptacle (14) includes threads (33) as best seen in Figure 3 which are able to mate with the threads (37) shown on the internal wall at the upper edge of the food stuff receptacle (14) so as to allow the lid (22) to be rotated down into the neck of the upper edge of the food stuff receptacle (14) for the lid to remain flush or below the top of the upper edge thereby enabling the food stuff receptacle to be conveniently and completely introduced up into the base of the flask section (12) so as to provide an overall tight, insulated and aesthetic profiled seal when both the flask section and the food stuff receptacle section are joined together.
[042] The collar extension (23) also provides for an ability to mount the flask section (12) as shown in Figure 5a in an upright position independent of the food stuff receptacle (14).
[043] Once the food stuff receptacle (14) is separate from the flask section (12), as introduced above, the food stuff receptacle container (14) is still able to fully insulate the food stuff within the area shown as (29) in Figure 2 because of lid (22) which has been threaded into the upper edge of the food stuff receptacle (14).
[044] Advantageously also, as the two sections of the beverage and food container of this invention are brought together through the thread arrangement (24) and (25) of the respective flask section (12) and the food stuff receptacle (14), this does not affect the seal created between lid (22) closing off the opening of the food stuff receptacle (14) because as introduced above the lid (22) has been rotated down either flush or below the top of the food stuff receptacle compartment (14).
[045] The user is able to rotate the lid (22) into sealable engagement with the upper edge of the food receptacle compartment (14) by a handle (34) shown in Figure 6a which is raisable from the resting position within the top surface of the lid (22) or in alternative embodiments the user can engage a pair of dimples shown illustratively as (31a) and (31b) on the surface (30) of the lid (22) to be able to rotate the lid (22) for the requisite sealing and/or release from the upper edge of the food stuff receptacle compartment (14).
[046] Figure 7 shows a further preferred embodiment of the invention wherein the beverage and food stuff container arrangement of this preferred embodiment is shown generally as (80) and includes mounts (81a) and (81b) for a utensil implement (82) having the functionality of a fork at end (83) and a spoon at end (84) to be mounted there to the beverage and food stuff container arrangement (80).
[047] Item (82) is shown purely illustratively of the kind of utensil implement that could be attached to the beverage and food container arrangement of this invention wherein other embodiments within the scope of the invention would include a variety of other type of implements, including chopsticks, knives and so forth.
[048] Also shown illustratively at the base of the food stuff receptacle (14) are features (40) which provide a non-slip bottom.
[049] As shown in Figure 5a and 5b, given that the flask or bottle section (12) and the food stuff receptacle (14) can be completely separated as two insulated articles, this allows each section (12) and (14) to be used independently of the other if need be.
[050] It is important also to note that the invention more generally is not intended to be restricted to any particular shape or size of the sections described for the beverage and food container. As discussed in preference statements disclosed in the Summary of the Invention, in preferred embodiments the components can be made of stainless steel offering lightweight and durability as well as keeping the sections free from rust and other potential toxic contamination.
[051] In preferred embodiments the use of a double wall insulated vacuum as part of the stainless steel arrangement of the beverage and food container of this invention should substantially reduce or ameliorate likely condensation and sweating effects resulting from temperature differences between the insulated sections (27) of the flask (12) and (29) of the food stuff receptacle (14) with the outside environment.
[052] The unique beverage and food container arrangement described above in the Summary of the Invention and then more specific examples in the preferred embodiments presented with the assistance of the illustrations, makes available a convenient, safe and hassle-free means by which a user will be able to both drink and eat from the same storage container making it particularly useful when travelling and for use in the great outdoors.
