Description
Re: Australian Patent Application No. 2008100983.
Ref: Pool Cleaner Carrier Description.
SDescription The swimming pool cleaner carrier 1 hammock is a dual purpose design used to carry automatic swimming pool cleaners, as shown in Fig 3, and to be used to the store swimming pool cleaner when the swimming pool cleaner is not being used.
The object of the design is to provide an easy method of collecting up and carrying the swimming pool oo cleaner and transporting it from storage to the swimming pool and back to the storage location.
0 The design consists of a body 2 of various shapes e.g. square, round, hexagonal as shown in Fig 1. The design can be made in various sizes to accommodate different swimming pool cleaners. The material of 00 the body 2 is chosen to be resistant to the common swimming pool cleaning chemicals but is not C restricted to any single material. The design has a series of holes 4 in the body 2 to allow excess water to Sdrain from the carrier 1 hammock after the swimming pool cleaner has been taken out from the swimming pool, the arrangement of these holes 4 is not restricted and can be in any number or position or can be finished with eyelets or sewn, there are no restrictions in this design on the size or shape of the drain holes 4. The body 2 is laid flat upon the ground and the swimming pool cleaner's hoses and attachments are placed on the body 2. The body 2 has handles 3 attached for lifting, as shown in Fig 2.
There are no restrictions on the materials of the handles 3 the size or length. The design can incorporate graphic patterns or designs, logos or any images and none are precluded from the patent.
The dimensions, as shown in Fig 2, being in the order of 1.5 metres for dimension (length) and 1 metre for dimension (width). The material of construction is not restricted but will typically be a plastic polymer such as PVC. The gauge thickness is in the order of 0.8 mm to 1.5 mm.

Claims (4)
1. A carrier 1 for carrying and storing a swimming pool cleaning device comprising: a carrier 1 constructed from a sheet of durable material namely the body 2; said body 2 having a series of holes 4 or openings to allow excess water to drain from the carrier 1; said carrier 1 having handles 3 for lifting the body 2; 00 said body 2 characterised in that the body 2 can be laid flat upon the ground when the swimming pool Scleaner is being placed on the body 2; 0 said handles 3 on the body 2 are used for lifting the body 2 gathering up the swimming pool cleaner and it attachments. 00 C
2. The carrier 1 of claim 1, wherein the said body 2 of the carrier 1 is characterised by its area. The body S2 must be of a size to accommodate the array of available swimming pool cleaners. The body 2 is a single flat sheet of material and does not have any seams, folds, pleats or sides and will lay flat when loading the swimming pool cleaner. The shape of the body 2 is not restricted and must be able to cater for different designs of swimming pool cleaner heads and the associated hoses and attachments as required, E.g. Including long single length hoses and shorter multiple piece hoses. The body 2 of the carrier 1 can be in a multitude of colours and can include graphic designs, images, company logo's or patterns.
3. The carrier 1 of claim 1, wherein the said body 2 of the carrier 1 is characterised by its material of construction. The material is of a gauge which can withstand the abrasion and physical impacts consistent with being loaded with the swimming pool cleaner whilst laid upon a typically rough surface such as the ground. The material must also be resistant to the array of chemicals used in swimming pool water treatment. The material of construction will be pliable, and not rigid, allowing the handles 3 to gather up the swimming pool cleaner.
4. The carrier 1 of claim 1, wherein the said body 2 of the carrier 1 is characterised by the inclusion of a series of holes 4 gaps or other openings to allow excess water can drain away from the body 2 when the swimming pool cleaner has been removed from a swimming pool to store. The arrangement of the holes 4 gaps or openings is not restricted and allows for the removal of the excess water trapped in different spots in differing makes of swimming pool cleaners as required. The carrier 1 of claim 1, wherein the said handles 3 are characterised by their mechanical strength. The handles 3 will be robust enough to hold the weight of the swimming pool cleaner and its hoses for a prolonged period, during storage of the swimming pool cleaner. The handles 3 can cradle the body 2 across the width refer to Fig 2, or be directly fixed at some edge point. The handles 3 will be of a length which allows them to be brought together, when loaded with a swimming pool cleaner, so that they can be held and carried by a person. The handles 3 will also be of a length which allows the carrier 1 to be suspended during storage. 1 7 th February 2009 Page 1 of 1
