Abstract

Disclosed is a track renewal train (1) for maintaining a track, comprising an operational vehicle and a traction vehicle (2, 4). The traction vehicle (4) is provided with a load space (8) that has a cover (9) which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, a front entrance door (11), and a passageway (12) that adjoins the entrance door (11). The operational vehicle (2) is equipped with a work room (17) which is defined by two parallel sidewalls (15) that extend in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and is accessible from the entrance door (11) such that the safety of persons working in the operational vehicle (2) can be optimized.

Description

1 A TRACK CONSTRUCTION TRAIN FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF A TRACK The invention relates to a track construction train for the maintenance of a track, including a work vehicle and a traction vehicle which is connected to the former by 5 means of a coupling. DE 20208835 U, discloses a work or maintenance vehicle having two lattice beams extending parallel to one another and supported at the ends on respective undercarriages. To form a floor-less wagon box, each of the lattice beams is 10 connected to a multitude of roof beams for supporting a tarpaulin and forming a work space delimited in the longitudinal direction of an axis by the two lattice beams. The maintenance vehicle is propelled by a locomotive. It is desirable to create a track construction train of the kind mentioned at the 15 beginning in which there is improved safely for the working crew. The following discussion of the background to the invention is intended to facilitate an understanding of the invention. However, it should be appreciated that the discussion is not an acknowledgement or admission that any aspect of the discussion was part of 20 the common general knowledge as at the priority date of the application. The present invention provides for a track construction train for the maintenance of a track, including a work vehicle and a traction vehicle which is connected to the former by means of a coupling, including the following features: 25 a) in the region of the coupling, the traction vehicle includes a loading space having a cover displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, b) the traction vehicle, having a frontside, is equipped with an entry door, located at the front side and positioned at a vehicle end lying opposite the coupling, and a passage-way adjoining the entry door and leading towards the coupling. 30 c) the work vehicle includes a work space which is accessible by way of the entry door and delimited by two side walls extending parallel to one another and in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, d) the work vehicle is equipped with lifting devices, displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, for transporting cargo. C:VofAord\SPEC-841401.docx 2 In one embodiment the couplings for connection of a track treatment machine are provided at both vehicle ends, facing away from the coupling, of the traction- and work vehicles. 5 In another embodiment each track treatment machine is connected to two safeguards, spaced from one another and extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, for elongation of the passage-way of the traction vehicle, or the work space of the work vehicle. 10 In another embodiment at the vehicle end of the work vehicle facing away from the coupling, a front entry door positioned between the two side walls is provided. A track construction train configured in this way provides a comprehensive structural 15 unit which is optimised in the best manner with regard to safety of the working crew. It is -now possible for the working crew to commute between two track treatment machines, each coupled to a respective end of the train, without having to exit the track construction train laterally in the direction of the adjacent track to do so. In this connection, the loading area is also optimally integrated into the work space. 20 Additional advantages of the invention become apparent from the dependent claims and the description of the drawing. The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to an embodiment 25 represented in the drawing in which Figs. 1 and 2 show a side view and top view, respectively, of a track construction train. 30 A track construction train 1, shown in Figs. 1 and 2, is composed of a work vehicle 2 and a traction vehicle 4 which is connected to the former by means of a coupling 3. The traction vehicle 4 is equipped with an energy unit 5 serving for supplying energy to a motive drive 6 and to all further drives present on the track construction train 1. A C:%pofeord\SPEC-841401.docx 3 loading space 8, having a cover 9 displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, is provided on a vehicle end 7 adjoining the coupling 3. At a vehicle end 10 spaced from the coupling 3, the traction vehicle 4 is equipped with 5 an entry door 11, located at the front side, as well as a passage-way 12 adjoining the entry door and leading toward the coupling 3. The entry door 11, positioned centrally between two side walls 25, enables access to a driver's cabin 13. The work vehicle 2, which is supported at the ends on on-track undercarriages 14, 10 includes two side walls 15 extending parallel to one another and in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. These, together with a roof plane 16 connecting the two side walls 15 to one another, delimit a work space 17. As a result, work personnel standing on a track 18 located thereunder are prevented from leaving the work space 17 in the direction toward an adjacent track and thus are protected in an optimum way. 15 Located in the work space 17 is a multitude of supply lines 19 for electric, pneumatic and hydraulic drives. All supply lines 19 are fed by the energy unit 5. The work vehicle 2 is equipped with lifting devices 20, displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, for transporting cargo 21 between the loading space 8 and the work space 20 17. At both vehicle ends 10, facing away from the coupling 3, of the traction- and work vehicles 4 and 2, couplings 22 are provided for connection of a track treatment machine 23, mobile on the track 18, which can also be supplied with energy via the 25 supply lines 19. Each track treatment machine 23 is connected to two safeguards 24, for example in the shape of a fence, extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and spaced from one another in the transverse direction of the vehicle, for elongation of the 30 passage-way 12 of the traction vehicle 4, or the work space 17 of the work vehicle 2.
