Description
Description 0 Technical Field The present invention relates to an improved compact generator of light-emitting wheel with a protection mechanism that minimizes impact to the generator and makes the light emitted looks V)l brighter. These wheels are to fit into the wheel frames of roller skates, in-line skates, skate boards, en3 ITh bound skates, kick boards, bicycles, tricycles, scooters, motor cycles, easy to attach and detach 0 O roller skate and any toys with wheels.
SBackground Art Various types of conventional technologies relating to a compact generator of light-emitting wheel have been suggested before.
One of them, which with an International Patent No. WO 01/11760 Al, discloses a compact generator of a light-emitting wheel and the manufacturing method. The armature coil spool has an armature coil is formed with an armature coil assembly; in the armature coil assembly, covers formed of metal exhibiting superior magnetization alternating capability is formed to encompass the armature coil spool; Armature arms perpendicularly protrude from a surface of each cover and the armature arms of each of the covers is arranged alternately.
Accordingly, each armature coil is alternately magnetized by different poles of the permanent magnet and magnetic flux flows perpendicular to the direction of coil windings. Thus, current is induced to the armature coil in the spool due to the electromagnetic induction. The armature coil assembly is fixedly molded with the wheel hub when the wheel hub is injection-molded by polyurethane.
A protruding lead wire guiding portion for guiding a lead wire of the armature coil to the outside is formed on the armature coil assembly. The thin lead fire is very easily damaged and curved when the injection-molded wheel hits the floor and being spin by player who plays the roller skate, inline skate, skate board, bound skate, kick board, bicycle, tricycle, scooter, motor-cycle, and easy to attach and detach roller skate with the wheels having this light-emitting device. Also, the touching areas on both the protruding lead wire tip and the light-emitting device installation circuit board in outside are quite small to guarantee stable transmission of electromagnetic induction, especially 0 O when these wheels are aimed to be installed on utensils that the wheels hit the ground when the roller skate or toy are played. When the protruding lead wire is damaged, the electromagnetic induction could not be transmitted to the LED lights and turn the LED lights on; this contradicts the purpose of the compact generator, to make wheels flash while they are being spin.
in The LED lights, the assemblies of LED chip and LED bulb protective cap, are made on the most in outside of the light-emitting device installation circuit board. This mechanism could let the LED O lights to reach to most outside of the wheel hub, however, with the impact of the wheel being hit on Sground, the LED lights could also be damaged easily; thus the wheels could stop flashing very quickly due to the nature of wheels.
Polyurethane is used for the wheel with this light-emitting device because polyurethane could be made soft enough in order to absorb the force created by the impact of the wheel being hit on the floor. Also, polyurethane cannot be made transparent so the lights of the LED lights are not being seen as the brightest they should have been. Polyurethane wheels gradually turn yellow and further brown which, at the same time, make the lights from the LED lights seem not as bright as they should have been. Cheaper transparent material like PVC, that allow the lights to be seen brightest, could not be used for the wheels with this light-emitting device because PVC is harder than Polyurethane in nature and the force of the impact would directly be transferred to the LED lights and the armature coil with the protruding lead wire, making them exposed to direct impact; this could damage the light-emitting mechanism easily.
Summary of the Invention To solve the above problems, it is an objective of the present invention to provide an improved compact generator of light-emitting wheel with a protection mechanism that secures the armature coil assembly in order to stabilize the electromagnetic induction generated. The present invention makes the electromagnetic circuit more efficiently and stably connected the LED lights by combining the intruding lead wire and the light-emitting device installation circuit board into a onepiece circuit board with LED lights connected at the edge. This technology shortens the length from the circuit board and the armature coil by deleting the intruding lead wire. This improves the effectiveness of the electromagnetic induction created by the armature spool to the LED lights because the close locations of the circuit board and armature spool minimize the force created by i the impact when the wheel is being hit and spin on ground. The present invention consists of an 0 O extra protective hub having two caps assembled facing each other, this protective hub, after assembled, is with openings that allow the electromagnetic induction to pass through them yet Sprotect and fix the circuit board with LED lights inside the compact generator securely.
Another objective is to minimize the exposure of LED lights to the force generated by the impact i when the wheel is being hit and spin on ground. By locating the LED lights closer to the core of the compact generator, the LED lights become less vulnerable with the constant impact. An extra PVC ring with openings that are good for the locations of LED lights should be assembled and the Sopenings at the edge of the PVC ring should be good to surround three sides of the LED lights after all parts are assembled because this ring aims to prevent the LED lights from the direct impact produced when the wheel is being hit or spin on ground. The diameter of this PVC ring should longer than the distance of the two furthest LED lights so that the most outside part of this PVC ring could protect the sides of the LED lights that are not protected by the openings at the edge but to provide lights to the outside of the wheel.
With the use of PVC molded wheel, the LED lights are to be seen brighter than previous invention because PVC could be made transparent; this is the last objective, which is to make the LED lights as bright as they should be seen after the said impact is minimized with the above two objectives being made and achieved. The minimization of the impact allows the wheels to be made in PVC, a material that is cheaper than polyurethane and will not turn yellow and brown gradually. This ultimately improves the purpose of compact generator installed in light-remitting wheel because the LED lights look brighter and clearer when electromagnetic induction is generated and transferred to turn on the LED lights.
