Abstract
The gearbox comprises a "single", engagement sleeve (114; 116) movable between a neutral position and an engagement position for engagement of a given gear (VI; R), and a shift fork (14; 16) operatively connected to the engagement sleeve (114; 116) for controlling the displacement thereof between the neutral position and the engagement position. The shift fork (14; 16) is slidably mounted on a stationary support rod (32), which is provided with a pair of bushes (154, 156) defining a first axial abutment surface (162) for stopping the movement of the shift fork (14; 16) in the direction from the neutral position to the engagement position and a second axial abutment surface (164) for stopping the movement of the shift fork (14; 16) in the direction from the engagement position to the neutral position. The neutral position of the shift fork (14; 16) is axially spaced (E) from the second axial abutment surface (164).
