Abstract

The invention concerns a method for separating and transporting cartons of booklets (C) stacked for packaging, said booklets (C) being horizontally stacked from top to bottom. The method consists in bringing a presser carriage (7), with its front part (8) resting against the front of the carton being formed and its rear part (9) being under the carton and in starting, from beneath the carton, a clearance between two backs of adjacent booklets for inserting the two spacing portions (6a, 6b) of the separating device when the separating device meets the rear part (9) of the presser carriage (7), the presser carriage (7) then carrying away the formed carton. The invention is useful for forming and separating stacked cartons of notebooks.
