Coupling for multiple cables for electric vehicles.
The present invention relates to a coupling consisting of a socket and a plug for multiple cables for electric vehicles.
In the previously generally used couplings of this type, the plug has cylindrical metal pins which are slit along their length, and the socket has sleeves for receiving the metal pins.
However, this has two major disadvantages:
EMI1.1
To distribute lines on two separate couplings, which is not only an annoying complication. but also means an increase in price.
A second significant disadvantage of the previously usual. Contact pins that are slit open along their length result in the insecurity of the contact. The contact sleeves into which the slotted contact pins are inserted are usually fastened in a plate made of insulating material. In such a plate, however, the contact sleeves cannot be arranged in a large number with the accuracy that would actually be necessary because of the very low deflection of the slotted contact pins due to their shortness.
It therefore often happens, especially with a large number of contacts, that some of the pins do not make sufficient contact, since they do not come into contact with the contact sleeves due to the play required for a plurality of contacts.
According to the invention, these disadvantages are avoided in that the contact devices of the lines to be connected are isolated from each other on the one hand by the resilient contact fingers, which are arranged on the circumference of a geometric cylinder parallel to the generators of the latter, and on the other hand by being held together by means of a conical socket and a press ring Contact lamellas exist.

FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section and FIG. 2 shows a cross section through a coupling with 12 contacts.
. 1 designates the vehicle body to which the socket is attached with its attachment B.
A cylinder C made of insulating material is accommodated in the housing L of the socket, which has a circular guideline and on the circumference of which the twelve resilient contact fingers I) are arranged parallel to the generators of this cylinder. The contact fingers are of different lengths in order to enable a non-simultaneous and thus easier contact with the twelve contact blades E, with which they establish an electrical connection. F is the one connected to the socket and aT is the cable connected to the plug.

111 is the protective housing of the connector. The inner surface of the housing L forms a guide for the plug.
The flat contact fingers D are bent up at their ends in order to enable them to run onto the contact blades E without great effort.
By giving the contact fingers D a relatively considerable length. a very good suspension and a secure contact are achieved.
Instead of the contact fingers D being of unequal length, they can also be offset from one another in their longitudinal direction and achieved in such a way that they are not all at the same time, but one after the other
Get accrued.
The guideline of the cylinder. on the circumference of which the contact fingers are arranged does not necessarily need to be a circle: it can e.g. B. be an ellipse, a rectangle. The contact fingers are always parallel to the generators of the cylinder.
