Wollte man bisher den Ausputz in der Gerste bestimmen, so konnte das nur so vor sich gehen, dass zunächst eine bestimmte Menge Gerste, beipielsweise 1009, gewogen und alsdann durch ein Sieb mit geeigneter Maschenweite durchgeschüttelt wurde. Die durch die Siebfläche gefallenen kleinen Körner wurden dann nochmals gewogen und ergaben je@ nach ihrem Gewicht den Ausputz in der betreffenden Gerste.
Einmal wird durch ein derartiges umständliches Verfahren viel unnötige Zeit und Arbeit verursacht, das andere Mal aber sind Wägevorrichtungen erforderlich.
Durch die vorliegende Neuerung werden diese Übelstände beseitigt, und zwar besteht das Wesen der Erfindung darin, zur Bestimmung des Ausputzes in der Gerste einen Messzylinder aus Glas oder aus einem anderen geeigneten Material zu verwenden, der in ! seinen Grössenabmessungen so gehalten werden kann, dass er beispielsweise auch für 100 g Gerste geeignet ist. Es sind zu diesem Zweck in entsprechender Höhe an dem Zylinder drei übereinanderliegende Marken vorgesehen, und zwar je eine für leichte, mittlere und schwere Gerste, die ein grösseres oder geringeres Volumen hat. Zugleich sind verschiedene Marken im unteren Teil des Zylinders angebracht, die unmittelbar dem Prozentgehalt des Ausputzes in der Gerste bestimmen.
In gleicher Weise kann auch die Sortierung der Gerste bestimmt werden. Zu dem Zweck wird eine weitere Skala an dem Messzylinder angeordnet, die unmittelbar die betreffende Sortierung angibt.
Eine beispielsweise Ausführungsform des Messgefässes ist auf der Zeichnung veranschaulicht.
Das Messgefäss a trägt in entsprechender Höhe drei übereinanderliegende Marken b, c' und d, die je nach den grösseren oder geringeren Volumen der Gerste beim Messen in Anwendung kommen. In dem unteren Teil des Zylinders a sind mehrere Marken f angeordnet, die den Prozentgehalt des Ausputzes in der Gerste unmittelbar angeben. Die Marken 9 dienen dabei zur Angabe der Sortierung.
