A stone reading device consisting of a drum rotating under water with a device for regulating the water speed.
Stone selection machines are known which consist of a rotating drum a, which rotates in a container b under a water level and onto which the grain or other bulk material to be freed from stones falls from a supply device of any type, while the water flow in the Container flows in a direction opposite to the movement of the upper drum side. The water carries the grains with it, while the stones remain on the drum and are carried away by it until they fall into a catcher d. For the effect it is important to achieve the correct water speed at the point of separation of grain and stones.
For this purpose, an adjustable, small shooter e made of sheet metal has been installed, the distance of which from the drum can be changed, so that the water speed can be regulated.
It has been shown that the effect of this regulating device is much better if the water speed determined by the position of the shooter in the gap between the drum and the bottom edge of the shooter is not only limited to a very short one, only the thickness of the shooting plate e corresponding distance achieved, but ensures that this certain speed remains the same over a longer distance, so that it exerts its effect on the body dragged by the drum not just for a moment, but for a long time. The invention is based on this knowledge, which can be carried out, for example, 1D in such a way that not only one shooter e, but also several, e.g. B. three (e, el, e2, Fig. 1) can be arranged.
The water speed at the circumference of the drum a then remains approximately the same from e2 to e. The shooters must be adjustable individually or together in such a way that the distance of their lower edges from the drum circumference can be changed.
Fig. 2 shows another embodiment in which, instead of the individual shooters, a correspondingly elongated f, adapted to the underside of the drum shape, is arranged. How the upper limit of this body e is shaped is irrelevant; it can consist of an angularly bent sheet metal, a block or a hollow body.
It is only essential that the gap between it and the drum surface is a certain amount
Length, at least not less than 10 mm. This body, too, must be adjustable in such a way that it can be moved near and away from the drum surface.
