The invention relates to a mask sealing frame, which is connected to an ABC protective suit and has a cutout for the passage of a gas mask, wherein the edge of the cutout is designed as a sealing edge for engagement with the gas mask.
ABC protective suits usually consist of a top and a bottom. The top is provided with a hood which has a cutout for the passage of the user-worn gas mask. In order to achieve a tightness between gas mask and protective suit, the edge of the cutout is designed as a sealing edge for engagement with the gas mask.
In known protective suits the sealing edge is a bead. In order to achieve a sufficient tightness, such a bead must be pressed with a corresponding force to the gas mask.
But this has the disadvantage that the mask could be deformed by the relatively large force and thus again a leak was created.
The invention has set itself the goal of creating a mask sealing frame of the type mentioned, which does not have the disadvantages of the known mask sealing frame and therefore ensures a greater tightness. This is achieved in that the sealing edge is provided with a sealing lip on the gas mask for conditioning.
Experiments have shown that in a mask sealing frame according to the invention, a much smaller force is sufficient to press the sealing edge against the gas mask.
It has also been found that deformation of the mask body no longer occurs even if the mask is not optimally matched.
In a particularly expedient embodiment of the invention, the sealing lip is formed as a protruding from the surface of the sealing frame "U" or "V". The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawings, without being limited to this example. Showing:
Fig. 1 is a schematic view of an ABC protective suit; FIG. 2 is a view of the mask sealing frame associated with the suit; FIG. 3 shows a section through the sealing edge of the mask sealing frame; Fig. 4 shows the detail A of Fig. 3 in an enlarged view.
The upper part of an ABC protective suit 1 shown in FIG. 1 has a hood 2 with which a mask sealing frame 3 is glued.
This mask sealing frame 3 has a sealing edge 4 which delimits a cutout 5. By means of this cutout 5, when the ABC protective suit 1 is used, a gas mask of the carrier protrudes, wherein the sealing edge 4 is intended to sealingly surround the gas mask.
As is apparent from FIGS. 3 and 4, the sealing edge 4 is provided with a sealing lip 6. This sealing lip 6 is located at the end of a protruding from the surface of the sealing frame 3 "U". 7
The sealing lip 6 is sealingly in use on the gas mask and can adapt to this far better than a bead. If the sealing lip 6 is damaged, the sealing edge 4 will contract somewhat, and the leg of the "U" 7 opposite the sealing lip 6 will come into contact with the gas mask.
As a result, a double security is achieved over the known designs.
Numerous modifications are possible within the scope of the invention. Thus, the mask sealing frame does not have to be glued as a separate part of the protective suit. It would also be possible to form the mask sealing frame in one piece with the protective suit. Also, the sealing edge 4 instead of U-shaped could also be formed approximately V-shaped.
