The invention relates to a butterfly valve with a valve body which is mounted on the one hand on a pin seated in the housing and on the other hand by means of a shaft rotatably arranged in the housing, the pivot pin and the bores in the housing receiving the shaft having the same diameter. It is known to design the housing of such butterfly valves in such a way that, depending on requirements, the shaft is led out of the housing at one point or at the opposite point. Such an embodiment is obvious when the flap is supported on both sides by shafts that rotate with the flap, and therefore bushings of the same type are also provided on both sides in the housing as shaft bearings. It is different when on the one hand a pin fixed in the housing is used.
In such cases it was not possible to swap the shaft and journal.
The object of the invention is to simplify the housing of butterfly valves in order to reduce manufacturing and storage costs. The basic idea of the invention is to design the housing and the closing body in the same way with regard to the bearing sleeves and bores, so that a symmetrical shape of the housing and the closing body is obtained in this regard. The advantage is the simple production, because the bore for the bearing of the shaft and the bore for receiving the pivot pin can be made in one go and that the drive for the flap can be done without changing the housing on one side or the other.
According to the invention, these advantages are achieved in that the bores of the shut-off body receiving the pivot pin or the bushing of the pivot pin have the same diameter and, in the housing, the pivot pin and the shaft receiving holes preferably, as is known, of the same length and continuously are trained. A particularly advantageous embodiment results when the shaft seal is accommodated in a transition piece which is arranged between the housing of the drive and the housing of the flap and is tightly connected to the latter.
In the drawing, the object of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in section. The housing designated as a whole with -l-has two bearing eyes - 2, 3 - which have the same external and internal dimensions. A pivot pin --4-- is tightly connected in the bearing eye --3-- with the interposition of a sealing ring --5-- by means of screws --6--. The flap --7-- has a bore --9-- lined with a bearing sleeve --8-- and is mounted on the pivot pin --4-- with a bearing ring --10-- interposed.
The bearing eye --2-- is also equipped with a bearing sleeve --11-- and takes the drive shaft --12--, which is firmly seated in the plate body --7--. The shaft seal --13-- is arranged in a transition piece --14-- which is tightly connected to the housing-l- by means of screws --15-- with the interposition of a sealing ring --16--. The axial play is determined by the bearing ring. The housing --18-- of the drive is flanged to the intermediate piece --14--.
With this design, the intermediate piece --14-- and drive can optionally be connected to one of the bearing eyes - 2 and 3-- and also the pivot pin --4--, so that a simple design of the flap housing-1 - and reduced storage results.
