The invention relates to a step edge protection for worn trays, with a profile bar to have a tread surface covering a ceded step, the profile bar having a U-ionic cross-sectional section, between the parallel legs of which the front edge section of the tread surface engages, the thickness of which with the clear distance parallel leg essentially coincides, with a web connecting the two parallel legs and a bar pointing downwards at right angles from the lower leg, which at least partially covers the front edge of the trin step and to which a covering rod is fastened, and with one projecting forward.
arcuate approach as an extension of the upper leg.
The present invention has for its object to provide a device of the type under consideration, the profile bar withstands the loads occurring in particular in the region of the projecting section and in which the trim bar is held more reliably with simple attachment.

inserted here easily pivoted and is then pressed against the downward web of the profile bar, preferably a rectangular projecting bar of the profile bar enters into a groove of the covering rod.
The dimensions can be such that the projecting strip engages in the groove, so that the trim rod is practically attached to the lower strip of the profile rod.
This fastening of the cladding rod is quick and easy to do, while at the same time it withstands all the loads that arise and acts reliably in the long run, since the cladding rod of the profile rod, which engages in the clamped fit, is neither vertically movable nor horizontally movable overall, as this can be done by the upper one Projection is prevented.
The ledge projecting from the web of the profile bar pointing downwards. which preferably snaps into a corresponding groove in the trim rod, can be provided with lkqs-oriented grooves which can be used to hold adhesive, so that a secure adhesive connection can be created here in a simple manner.
It is also proposed with great advantage that the downward-pointing web of the profile bar is flush with the upper thigh at the front. The cross leg, however, is quite a bit

to prevent running.
It is also proposed that the two upper peralell. The legs of the profile bar have a spacing of Thzw 14mm so that they are suitable for holding laminate flooring or parquet floorboards, or the distance is made depending on the thickness of the support plates. The profile bar is preferably made of anodized aluminum, but the invention is not limited to this material Is. For example, the profile can also be made of brass.
According to the present invention, an extremely stable profile rod is provided with very simple means, which, due to its good strength properties, withstands the bending moments and vertical forces acting without any significant permanent deformation, and which at the same time enables the front cladding element of the stair step to be securely fastened with minimal effort.
