Sand spreaders for automobiles
The invention relates to a sand spreader for motor vehicles or the like with a sand container, the outlet opening of which opens into a compressed air pipe connected to a fan, a shut-off device being provided between the container and the compressed air pipe.
In a known sand spreader for motor vehicles, a low-pressure fan is provided in the middle between two lateral sand containers and the compressed air is passed into the compressed air pipe at the mouth of the sand container in such a way that an ejector effect is achieved; a gate valve is not provided.
Furthermore, a sand spreader for motor vehicles is known in which a magnetically actuated slide is provided between the container for the sand and the spreader tube, the slide being in the form of a plate with a central recess by the actuation of a solenoid magnet which acts in the horizontal direction, can be brought into and out of the action position.
Finally, a sand spreader for motor vehicles is also known in which an electrical control device with the interposition of a reciprocating piston by means of an agitator can spread sand from a sand container by lifting a valve onto the roadway. This setup is very complicated and between the compressed air motor with reciprocating piston and the agitator.
The invention relates to a sand spreader for motor vehicles with a sand container of the type mentioned, the essential characteristic of the invention being that the closure for the sand container is designed in a known manner as a solenoid valve and the switch for the magnet and the Fan is a multi-stage switch which, when the device is switched on, first operates the fan and then the slide for opening the sand container.
The advantage of the invention lies primarily in its simple construction, the closure for the sand container and the magnet being housed in a single housing together with the T-shaped connector for the compressed air and the outflow of the sand, so these parts are assembled in a compensatory manner. In addition, there is the advantage that the sand falling into the pipe for the removal of the sand cannot clog the pipe for the sand, even if larger pieces should fall off due to possible freezing together in winter, because the compressed air takes care of the removal beforehand .
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention in a vertical schematic section.
M denotes a motor fed by the battery B of the motor vehicle, which is coupled to a common fan, not shown, which is connected to the pipe (hose) 6, which is expediently made of plastic and which in turn is drawn onto a pipe socket 5. The pipe socket 5 forms part of the tubular T-piece 4, the other socket 5a of which is connected by means of a clamp 6a to a V-shaped distributor 7 for the two rear wheels for discharging the sand.
The hoses 8 and 8a made of plastic are pulled onto the two parts of the V-shaped distributor 7. The T-piece 4 has an upwardly projecting pipe part on which means

A cylinder 10 is screwed on a thread, which has a funnel 11 which can be extended upwards with a cylinder at 11b, in order to be able to store a larger amount of sand.
The opening opening into the continuous part of the T-piece can be closed with a valve 14 which is movable transversely to the longitudinal part 4a of the T-shaped connector 4 and which is constantly in the upper, i.e. H. Closure position (shown in dashed lines) is held. The valve 14 is provided with a bolt 12 which is guided in a guide 13 of the T-shaped pipe section and is provided at the bottom with a solenoid core 3 of a magnet coil 2.
The solenoid is connected to the electrical power source B (battery) through lines 1a and 1b interposed with a two-stage switch 1 so that when switch 1 is operated, the motor with the fan is switched on and only then is coil 2 energized is, so that it is ensured that the blower wind already flows through the pipe part 4a of the T-shaped pipe section and only then is the sand switched on.
