Method for closing a collapsible container
The invention relates to a method for closing a folding container, which is open on one side, in particular by folding in folding triangles attached between the side wall parts, under
Applying and securing a cover part in the form of a film or the like on extensions folded outwards at right angles on the side walls and unfolding the extensions and the associated cover parts and possibly further closure parts onto the opening.
The difficulty with the closure method of this type is that there is a risk that the
Foil is not completely welded to the cut parts at the container edges and as a result channels are formed which lead from the outside into the container interior. One has already tried this
To remedy disadvantages by not completely cutting or punching the blank for the container at the fold lines that will later form the container edge, so that the blank tears somewhat and the fibrous edge thus formed with the thermoplastic material of the film provides a certain guarantee for a tight seal Degree offers. It has also already been suggested that special ones be made in the endangered areas
Apply sealant.
However, when the method is carried out by machine, these proposals are not able to offer any security for avoiding channels.
According to the invention, a secure closure can now be achieved in that attachments attached to the cut parts used to form the container open on one side, in particular the folded-in folding triangles, are folded inwards at an angle of 900 before the lid part is applied and at the same time be connected to the other blank parts with the cover part. The inwardly folded approaches provide a base for the film or the like to be applied, on which a stronger pressure can be applied as a result, since they are now also supported against the inside of the container. As a result, the film can be pressed more forcefully against the edge of the container, so that it is connected with this edge or the corresponding cut parts with greater security.
In addition, the larger contact surface of the film in the vicinity of the container edge prevents tensile stresses from occurring which could cause the film to subsequently detach from the container edge.
The connection of the cut parts with the cover part can be done in any way.
One possibility of creating an additional seal on the container edges is according to FIG
Invention achieved in that the inwardly bent lugs each with a folding triangle
Corner of an outwardly bent approach are connected. These folding triangles not only provide a seal. but also an additional reinforcement of the support surface for the cover part.
According to the invention, a film serving as a cover part can also be bent around two opposite, outwardly folded attachments and glued with their edges to the corresponding side walls. The film can then also be folded around the two other outwardly folded approaches and also glued to the container wall, which results in a completely secure seal on the container edges and, under certain circumstances, also through the cut edges that protrude outward Foil can be covered.
Particularly in the production of trays that are to be closed by a transparent film, the approaches on the container edge that are not connected with folding triangles with the inwardly folded approaches can be folded inwards before connecting to the lid part and then connected to the lid part, whereupon the remaining approaches are unfolded.
You can also use two opposite, attached to the container edge approaches as cover approaches

approaches are put into each other. In this way, a cover can be formed which is very easy to close and which protects the film or the like forming the actual closure from damage.
In the drawings, embodiments of the method according to the invention are shown by way of example. Fig. 1 is a blank for a first embodiment of the method according to the invention. 2-10 show the closing and folding of the container according to the first embodiment. Figure 11 shows a second embodiment of the blank of the method according to the invention. 12-14 show the folding in of the blank of FIG. 11. FIG. 15 shows a blank for a third embodiment of the method according to the invention. 16-27 show the folding of the blank of FIG. 15.
The blank shown in Fig. 1 has a base 1 which is connected to side wall parts 2-5. The side wall parts are connected to one another with folding triangles 6-13. Attachments 14-17 are attached to the side wall parts 2-5, of which the attachments 14 and 15 are designed as cover attachments which are laterally provided with tabs 18, 19 and 20, 20 '. A n the triangles 6, 9, 10 and 13 lugs 21-24 are attached. The lower part of the container is folded in by erecting the side wall parts 2-5 while folding in the triangles 6-13 (FIGS. 3 and 4).

was transparently closed, a surrounding, shapely bar on its edge, as shown in Fig. 19 can be seen.
The film can also be applied to the extensions 30, 31, which are initially folded outwards, and they can be glued to these extensions and, of course, to the extensions 16, 17 which are likewise folded outwards.
If the film is dimensioned large enough, it can first be folded outwards around the extensions 30, 31, guided back under these extensions and glued to the side walls 2 and 3. After the extensions 30,31 have been folded over onto the container opening, the film can then be placed around the extensions 16, 17 in the same way and adhered to the container wall 4 and 5 together with the naturally occurring folds (Fig. 21-23) .
If you cut off the corners at the approaches 30,31, you can also first fold the film around the approaches 16, 17 and after folding these approaches fold the film around the approaches 30,31 and with its edges on the side walls 2 and 3 (Fig. 24-27).
The containers produced in this way correspond to the appearance of the container shown in FIG. Here, however, not only the endangered areas on the container edges are enveloped by the film, but also all the cut edges are covered by the film and thus sealed.
Of course, not only thin foils can be used as cover parts according to the method according to the invention, but also, especially in the case of the method according to the invention. 1-14, any materials that have the required tightness properties, e.g. B. also laminated papers, aluminum foils or the like.
