13a befestigt (s. Fig. 1, 8 und 27).
Fig. 1).
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Fig. 1, 8 und 27).
Fig. 19) wird das wellige Bügelband der Fig. 16

Fig. 1).

Another characteristic of the invention is that the separable end closure is designed in such a way that it can no longer happen that one strip of fabric is torn loose when the slide is pushed back and forth quickly. In addition, the separable end closure according to the invention is designed so that the slide is not lost when the zipper is taken apart.
In the zipper shown, the surface of the slide is used as a decorative object

the zipper cannot be released by simply bending the two strips of fabric, as is often the case with the known zippers. A loosening of the locking bows is also impossible, since they are firmly clamped to the fabric band with their slotted web and over part of the slotted bows, so that they have a secure hold.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the figures. 1 shows a zipper with closure members according to the invention. A separable end closure is provided at the bottom of the zipper. FIGS. 2 and 3 show the surfaces of slides which are designed as a decorative object. FIGS. 4, 5, 6 and 7 give details of the separable end closure, u. between FIG. 4 is a section along line G-H and FIG. 5 is a section along line E-F of FIG.
6 and 7 are sections through the middle of the end closure of FIG. 1, the two FIGS. 6 and 7 showing two different embodiments of the locking of the hand closure. FIG. 8 shows a further zipper in which the closure elements are arranged differently than in the zipper of FIG. 1. FIGS. 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 show a single closure element in different views. FIGS. 14, 15, 16 and 17 show how the closure members are produced.
18 and 19 or 20, 21 and 22 or 23, 24, 25 and 26 show three different tools which are required in order to be able to attach the corresponding number of fastener elements to the fabric tape at once. In this case, FIG. 18 is the side view of the clamping device in order to be able to attach the connected closure members to the fabric band. 19 is a sectional view along line AB of FIG. 18. The clamping device for guiding the fabric tape is shown in side view in FIG. 20, in section along line EP in FIG. 20 in FIG 22 in section along the line CD of FIG.
The pressing device for fastening the fastener elements to the fabric band is shown in its front view in FIG. 23, in FIG. 24 in section along line G-H in FIG. 23, in FIG. 2'5 partially in section
EMI2.4
23 shown. In FIG. 27, a further zipper is shown, in which the closure members are again arranged differently than in the zipper of FIGS. 1 and 8.
The closure member of the zip fastener consists of a bracket with a bar and two straight legs 3. One leg can have a recess (hole) 1 for engagement and the other leg a protrusion or protruding nose 2. The bracket is attached with its web 4 to the fabric tape 13 or 13a (see. Fig. 1, 8 and 27).
In the zip fastener of FIG. 1, the closure brackets are attached to the two fabric straps 13 and 13a in such a way that the lower legs 3 of the closure brackets on the fabric tape 13 into the two legs 3 of the closure brackets on the fabric tape 13a, and the upper legs. 3 of the closure straps on the fabric tape 13a engage in the two legs 3 of the closure straps on the fabric tape 13.
The lower legs 3 of the locking brackets on the fabric tape 13 have lugs 2 which engage in the holes 1 of the lower legs 3 of the locking brackets on the fabric tape Ja.
The upper limbs 3 of the closing brackets on the fabric tape 13a also have lugs 2 which engage in the holes 1 of the upper limbs 3 of the closing brackets on the fabric tape 13.
The distance between two legs 3 of a bracket is slightly greater than the thickness of one leg 3, so that one leg of one bracket can easily engage the two legs of another bracket (see Fig. 1).
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The zipper is opened and closed with the aid of the slide 5 (see FIGS. 1, 8 and 27). The same is of a known type and is shown in FIGS. 8 and 27 indicated. It consists of two connected sheet metal surfaces, between which the wedge piece 5a is provided above.
As can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3, the surface of the slide 5 is designed as a decorative object.
In the zipper of FIG. 8, the locking brackets are arranged in a stepped manner. With the latter arrangement, fewer brackets are required than in FIG. 1. The upper legs. 3 of the locking clips on the fabric tape 13 have the holes 1 into which the noses 2 of the lower legs 3 of the locking clips on the fabric tape 1. 3a intervene. The lower thighs. 3 of the locking brackets on the fabric tape 13 have the noses 2 which engage in the holes 1 of the upper legs 3 of the locking brackets on the fabric tape 13.
With the arrangement of the locking brackets according to FIG. 27, fewer brackets are required than with the zipper of FIG. 8. In addition, FIG. 27 differs from FIGS. 1 and 8 in that the zipper of FIG only the lower legs 3 of the two rows of stirrups on the fabric straps 13 and 13a have lugs 2 or holes 1, while the upper legs 3 have no lugs or openings, so that only the lower legs 3 interlock.
The locking brackets are completely formed from a profiled wire in the flat state by embossing the holes 1 and the lugs 2 and punching out the elongated recesses a, which extend over a fraction of the leg length 3. In FIGS. 14 and 15, two different types of stirrups are shown in the flat state, which by means of the bridges 20 form a coherent whole. In the connected bars of FIG. 14, the recesses a are widened by wedge punches.
11 and 12, a single bracket is shown in the flat state. From Fig. 11 one can see the recess a, the hole 1 and the nose 2. These parts can also be seen from Fig. 12, which shows a sectional view along the line A.-B of Fig. 11.
In contrast to the single bracket of FIGS. 11 and 12, the single bracket shown in the flat state in FIGS. 9 and 10 has only one nose 2. Such a bracket is used in the arrangement of FIG.
In Fig. 13 the attachment of the bracket to the fabric tape 13 - seen from above or below - is shown. It can be seen from FIG. 13 that the leg 3 is fastened to the fabric band 13 with the aid of the recess a, which for this purpose has a special bead corresponding to the recess a. In the case shown in FIG. 13, the leg 3 has a nose 2.
The connected brackets of FIGS. 14 and 1.5 are bent by a suitable bending device in such a way that the brackets come to lie on one side and the bridges 20 on the other side, so that a wavy band according to FIG. 16 is obtained .
FIG. 17 shows the wavy band of FIG. 16-seen from the side. With the aid of the recess a - as already mentioned - the bracket is attached to the fabric strip 1. 3 or l. 3a clamped.
The wavy strap band of Fig. 16 is pressed onto the fabric band 13 as follows:
With the aid of the two clamping plates 25 and 26 (see FIG. 19), the wavy strap band of FIG. 16
EMI3.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
at the same time the bridges 20 of the wavy strap of FIG. 16 are cut off with the aid of the cutting edge of the pressure device.
The pressing device also consists, like the clamping device of FIGS. 18 and 19 and the clamping device of FIGS. 20, 21 and 22, of two clamping plates 33 and 34. These two clamping plates have projections 35 and 36 at the top, which exactly fit into the millings le on the Clamping plates 29 and 30 of FIGS. 20, 21 and 22 fit. The webs 4 and the legs 3 of the stirrups are pressed tightly to the fabric band 13 by the two attachments 35 and 36 when the pressing device of FIGS. 23, 24, 25 and 26 is brought up to the clamping device of FIGS. 20, 21 and 22. The position of a bracket with the bridge 20 in the pressing device is indicated in FIG. 24.
At the top of the lugs 35 and 36 of the clamping plates 33 and 34 there are small square lugs 37 which have the purpose of securing the inserted bracket at the upper edge 39, which is also the cutting edge.
The clamping device of FIGS. 20, 21 and 22 fits into the pressing device between the clamping plates 33 and 34. If the brackets are now inserted into the clamping device of FIGS. 20, 21 and 22 in the manner described, and if the fabric strip 13 is also in the correct position in the clamping device 20, 21 and 22, the two clamping plates 33 and 34 are pressed together so that the lugs 35 and 36 of the pressing device, which fit into the milled recesses k of the clamping device of FIGS. 20, 21 and 22, press the stirrups firmly against the fabric band 13. The bridges 20 are cut off by the cutting edge 39.
Corresponding to the bracket indicated in FIG. 24, the nose 2 of one leg J of the bracket can be seen in FIGS. 23, 25 and 26.
When the two devices are opened, namely the pressing device of FIGS. 23, 24, 25 and 26 and the clamping device of FIGS. 20, 21 and 22, the brackets then sit firmly on the fabric strip 1, 3 separately.
The process described can begin again after a corresponding advance has been carried out on the strap band of FIG. 16 and on the fabric band 13.
With reference to FIGS. 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7, the separable end closure attached to the zip fastener of FIG. 1 is described.
As can be seen from FIG. 5, the two fabric strips 13 and 1. 3a are clamped between the individual parts of the end closure. The two main parts of the termination 7 and 6 are
EMI4.1
to facilitate closure.
In addition to the two main parts 6 and 7, there are two extension pieces 11 and J which are conical in shape (see FIG. 1). Furthermore, a third extension piece 10 is also present.
According to the embodiment of FIG. 6, the extension piece 11 is extended into a pin 8 which is slotted so that it is resilient. The pin 8 engages in a hole 9 which the extension piece 10 has. The pin 8 has a conical head at the bottom which firmly engages in a corresponding countersink 17 of the hole 9, so that the individual parts of the end closure are held in place in all directions and the ends of the two fabric strips are firmly held together.
