EMI2.2
Raum 9 befindliehe Druck vermindert, und demzufolge sich die angespannte Feder 13 entspannen muss ;

Backlash-proof device for the simultaneous opening of a plurality of valves for the supply or mixing of gases in the correct ratio with the aid of just as many valve membranes forming the boundary walls of a space filled with a pressure medium.
The invention relates to a backlash-proof device for the simultaneous opening of a plurality of valves for the supply or mixing of gases in the correct ratio with the aid of just as many valves forming the boundary walls of a space filled with a pressure medium. membranes.
EMI1.1
Mix ratio. The gases still have a certain pressure while they flow through flexible lines to the mixing chamber. If an unforeseen severe leak occurs in one of the lines, the pressure in this line naturally drops, and the result is that the valve through which the gas enters the line is opened even more by the associated membrane.
The other gas can now pass through the mixing chamber into the damaged line, and a considerable explosion can take place as a result of the flame recoil caused by the pressure reduction. This disadvantage is eliminated by the invention.
It is known to increase the pressure required to open the valves in the space partially delimited to the outside by membranes by screwing down a hollow one. cause plungers containing air in the upper part. Accordingly, this remains unchanged in its position, even if a sudden severe leak occurs in one of the discharge lines of the gases, while the air contained in it expands in accordance with the reduction in counterpressure, thereby causing the valve of the damaged line to open more frequently.
According to the invention, a spring-loaded diaphragm is used to produce the pressure required to open the valves, on which a plunger sits, the downward-pointing tip of which is usually located close to the closure plate or the valve cone of an outlet opening.
If an unpredictable leak occurs in one of the outflow and inflow lines of the gases, which results in a stronger yielding of one of the valve diaphragms, the spring-loaded diaphragm lowers accordingly and the tip of its plunger pierces the small closure plate or lifts the corresponding closure cone of a valve his seat. The space limited to the outside by the membranes is now immediately depressurized and the springs of the gas control valves press these valves onto their seats. Gas can then no longer escape and thus no explosion can take place.
The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment: FIG. 1 is a central longitudinal section through the device and FIG. 2 is the longitudinal section of the mixing chamber of a burner.
Oxygen and a gas to be burned are supplied through lines 1 and 2 in a known manner. Via the valves 4 and 5, which are usually pressed onto their seats by springs 6, the gases pass into lines 1 a and 1 b and through them to the mixing chamber. J. These valves are attached to membranes 7 and 8, which serve to partially delimit a space 9 in which, in the selected embodiment, a drip liquid is located. The space 9 is closed at the bottom by a thin and easily replaceable metal plate 10 and at the top by a membrane 11. The space 9 is complete, that is to say it is filled with the liquid up to the membrane 11.
On the membrane 11 rests one

Plate 12, which in turn is under the influence of a spring 13, the tension of which can be regulated with the aid of the screw 14 and the handwheel 15.
If the handwheel 15 is rotated in such a way that the diaphragm tends to reduce the space 9, the affected diaphragms 7 and 8, as is known per se, give in accordingly and open the valves 4 and 5.
According to the invention, a device is now provided which brings about the automatic closing of the valves if, as a result of a sudden severe leak or an under-

Pressure drop occurs. This device consists of a plunger 16 connected to the membrane H, the lower end of which, when the valves 4 and 5 are open, is located very close above a metal plate 10 which is attached to the floor of the room 9 in an easily exchangeable manner.
If z. If, for example, a strong pressure drop occurs in the lines, this can be attributed in most cases to the inflow lines, since the inflow lines must always be under a certain pre-pressure, as is known.
If a sudden pressure drop of a gas occurs in one of the inflow lines 1 or 2, be it due to a leakage or interruption of the supply, the latter due to the failure of the compressors or failure of the oxygen center, space 4 a or 5 a of its counter pressure is the Diaphragm 7 or 8 removed, which must have the consequence that the diaphragm 7 or 8 through
EMI2.2
Space 9 is reduced pressure, and therefore the tensioned spring 13 must relax;
Through this relaxation, the membrane 11, to which the pin 16 is coupled, is pressed down so far that the pin 16 pierces the metal plate 10 or opens a spring-loaded valve, and the liquid flows out, whereby the space 9 is relieved of its pressure, and the two valves 4 and 5 are closed by the springs 6, which prevents the gases from flowing in or through.
Even if the pressure in one of the two valve chambers 4 a, 5 a suddenly drops rapidly, the associated membrane 7 or 8 driiekt, because its outside is partially relieved of the gas pressure, the corresponding valve spring closer together, which has the result that also the membrane. H is pressed deeper by the spring 13, and the metal plate 10 is also pierced.
The metal plate 10 can be replaced by a well-closing, spring-loaded valve.
The short channels j? y, M, which the lines 1 a and 1 b with the mixing chamber. 3 connect have a significantly smaller cross-section than these lines, so that the exit speed in these channels is higher than the ignition speed even with only moderate or weak pressures in lines 1 a and 1 b, and the welding flame can therefore not get into the lines Hit back 1 and 1 b.
