Sealing strip for windows and towers.
Sealing strips for windows and doors, consisting of a felt strip or the like clamped between the legs of a U-shaped rail made of sheet iron, are known. The leg of the rail is usually bent up in these sealing strips; The rail is also provided with elongated, square cutouts to accommodate the fastening screws for the bar. These sealing strips can have the disadvantage that the felt strip, which is subject to permanent change in shape due to the compression, or, in the case of a rubber strip, the dried out and hard rubber strip no longer clings firmly to the door or window frame.
The use of rubber hoses for sealing windows or doors is also an option

emphasize that instead of the felt or full rubber strip, a rubber hose advantageously covered with a cover made of canvas or other fabrics is used.

in plan view, in Figure 2 the same shown in cross section; 3 shows the cross section of the rubber hose, FIG. 4 shows the finished sealing strip in a top view, FIG. 5 shows the cross section of the same and FIG.
The sealing strip consists of a U-shaped bent rail 1 made of sheet metal and a rubber hose clamped firmly between the legs of the same, suitably provided with a canvas cover or insert: 2. Only a part of the hose 2, u. between the generators along, clamped in the socket 1; the larger part actually used for sealing protrudes from the rail. The upper edge part 3 of one leg of the rail is bent upwards by about 80 ". This edge part 3, which runs obliquely to the plane of the bar, increases the elasticity of the entire bar. A much better seal is also achieved by using the rubber loop than by using felt -or rubber strips.
Also, the rubber hose is not so easily subject to permanent change in shape as z. B. a felt strip; the rubber hose does not become brittle and inelastic as quickly as a full rubber strip. The sealing strip is fastened to the window or door post 6 with the help of the wood screws 5 inserted through the cutouts 4 (FIG. 6) so that when the window or door is closed, the protruding part of the hose pressed against the door or window frame. the bent edge 3 is pressed shut. The cutouts 4 lying in the transverse direction enable the sealing strip to be readjusted as required.
The rail 1 can of course not only be made of sheet metal, but also of wet paper, celluloid or the like.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Sealing strip for windows and doors, using a rubber hose as a sealing agent, characterized in that the rubber hose (2) between the legs of a U-shaped curved rail (1) is clamped in such a way that part of the hose from the rail protrudes.
