Drywall panels are used essentially for the interior of buildings and are mounted either on a substructure directly to the cladding of walls, ceilings, pitched roofs and the like, or for the construction of partitions on stand structures.

Plates containing clay and wood components are known.

GB 1,468,239 discloses the production of mineral fiber boards, but also describes the production of wood fiber boards. The content of wood fiber or wood wool is over 50%, the clay content of 0 to 25%.

DE 102 08 837 A discloses building blocks or plates of water-moist clay, crushed wood and a binder.

From DE 102 17 185 A clay plates are known which contain a Holzwollarmierung.

EP 0 535 000 A describes plates having a core layer of clay-bonded renewable materials such as straw embedded in reticulated materials.

EP 1 674 435 A discloses wood fiber clay slabs containing various auxiliaries, especially drainage aids.

All these plates show disadvantages, in particular with regard to separability by cutting, sawing or milling, machinability, strength, or adhesion of a plaster to be applied.

Furthermore, these known wood fibers containing clay or clay slabs are very difficult and therefore cumbersome to handle.

The object of the invention was to provide a drywall, which does not have the disadvantages mentioned above.

The invention is therefore a drywall, consisting of clay or clay, characterized in that it has 10 to 80% by weight of paper fibers and as a binder 20 - 90 wt% clay or clay as fiber material.

Advantageously, drywall according to the invention contains at least 30% clay or clay.

From this clay or clay content the resistance to heat and fire is excellent, the drywall is not flammable.

Clays or clays with high binding capacity at low tendency to swell (eg: Tegel, etc.) are suitable for this purpose. The paper fibers are preferably waste fibers from paper production which have a size of < 3mm, preferably < 1.5 mm.

As a result, the paper fibers in the slurry of the binder clay or clay can be particularly evenly distributed.

The content of paper fibers is advantageously at least 20% by weight, more preferably 30 to 70% by weight.

By using paper fibers as fiber material clay or clay drywall according to the invention is much lighter than comparable wood fiber clay or clay slabs. 1.2
