Biche and acoustic indicator for the extinction of an alternating current-fed lamp.
The subject of the invention is an optical and acoustic display device for the extinguishing of an alternating current-fed lamp, which can be used particularly advantageously in railway signaling.
The signaling device consists essentially of a metallic housing in which an electromagnet with two windings and a single core is accommodated, which acts on one and the same vibrating membrane.
In the drawing representing an embodiment of the invention, S denotes the metallic housing, Al and Al are two separate windings which surround the same magnetic core 0, while the vibrating membrane M (also made of magnetic material) is arranged at a corresponding distance from the magnetic core 0 is. The circuit of the windings Al and Al indicated in the drawing means that the direction of the current in Al is always opposite to that of the current in. If, moreover, the ratio of the number of turns and current strengths in the two windings is selected accordingly, the magnetic flux becomes zero and the magnet has no effect on the membrane M at all.
Under these circumstances, the two windings cause jdi and, since they completely neutralize each other, also no voltage drop due to self-induction.
In the drawing, two electric lamps are designated by Kl and K2. The first (K1J is located at a monitoring point near the signaling apparatus, the second (K2) is assumed to be remote from it, so that it cannot be seen by the monitoring point.
As long as alternating current of a certain strength flows in both windings, the signal remains
EMI1.1
has exposed, the core becomes omagnetic and acts on the membrane M, which, since it is an alternating current, is alternately attracted and repelled and accordingly emits a sounding signal.
The normal lighting of the lamp KK and the simultaneous rest of the acoustic signaling device together form an optical and acoustic indicator for the normal burning of the lamp K.
The extinguishing of the lamp K i is indicated by the sounding of the signal device and the weaker lighting of the lamp K i. This drop in the luminosity of the lamp Kl is explained by the fact that the winding j is de-energized and therefore a voltage drop occurs in the winding Al as a result of the now non-neutralized self-induction.
