   Die Erfindung betrifft Fahrzeuge mit rotierendem elektrischen Umformer, z. B. elektrische Umformerlokomotiven oder Hilfsfahrzeuge mit fahrbarem Umformer. Erfindungsgemäss wird eine wesentlich bessere Raumausnutzung als bei sämtlichen bisher bekannten Umformerfahrzeugen dadurch erzielt, dass der Haupttransformator des Fahrzeuges und der Umformer übereinander angeordnet werden. 



   Beispielsweise wird der Haupttransformator liegend auf dem Fahrzeugrahmen gelagert und sein   Gehäuse   zugleich als Grundplatte für den Umformer, etwa einen Motorgenerator, verwendet. Es kann aber auch der Transformator oberhalb des Umformers angebracht werden, was den Vorteil sehr einfacher   Leitungsführung bietet,   da die Wechselstromzuleitung in der Regel durch das Dach des Fahrzeuges erfolgt. 



   Auf Lokomotiven ist die Anordnung des Transformators oberhalb des Umformers günstig, da unter diesem liegende Lokomotivmotoren leichter zugänglich sind, als wenn der die ganze Bodenfläche einnehmende Transformator unmittelbar die Motoren überdeckt. 



   Weitere Vorteile beider erwähnten Anordnungen entstehen bei gemeinsamer Kühlung von Um-
