Abstract
Un método para preparar una levadura industrial, levadura industrial y aplicación a la producción de etanol a partir de, por lo menos, una pentosa. La presente se relaciona con el campo de métodos para obtener cepas de levaduras que producen etanol, con las cepas producidas de esa manera y con la producción industrial de etanol a partir de dichas cepas. Más particularmente, la presente describe en su aspecto más general, un método para preparar levaduras a partir de cepas Saccharomyces cerevisiae mediante la integración en el genoma de la levadura de -al menos- un gen que codifica para xilosa isomerasa y de -al menos- un gen que codifica para xilitol deshidrogenasa. La cepa de presente resulta de utilidad para producir etanol a partir de un medio que comprende al menos una pentosa, con preferencia xilosa o una mezcla de xilosa y arabinosa.
