Abstract
Un sistema de pedido de repetición automática, de capa física, comprende un transmisor y un receptor. Un transmisor de capa física, en el transmisor, recibe datos y formatea los datos recibidos en paquetes que tienen una codificación/modulación de datos particular. El transmisor de capa física contiene n canales que transmiten los paquetes y retransmiten paquetes en respuesta a la ausencia de recepción de una confirmación correspondiente para un paquete dado. Un controlador de modulación y codificación adaptativas en el transmisor recoge las estadísticas de retransmisión y ajusta la codificación/modulaciones de datos particulares usando las estadísticas recogidas. El receptor posee un receptor de n canales de capa física para recibir los paquetes. El receptor contiene un combinador/decodificador ARQ híbrido de n canales que combina las transmisiones de paquetes, decodifica paquetes y detecta errores de paquetes. El receptor contiene un transmisor de confirmación que transmite una confirmación para cada paquete, si ese paquete tiene un coeficiente de errores aceptable. El receptor contiene un elemento de entrega en secuencia que entrega paquetes aceptables a capas superiores. También se divulga un método para ajustar la modulación de datos en un sistema de comunicación inalámbrico y un sistema de comunicaciones que emplea un acceso inalámbrico fijo de banda ancha.
