Abstract

Alfa-fenoxi-alcanoles representados por la formula general (I) en el cual R1 y R2, que son idénticos o diferentes uno del otro, representan un átomo dehidrogeno o el radical CH3, y sus estereoisomeros de configuracion R,S cuando comprenden por lomen os un carbono asimétrico. Estos alfa-fenoxi-alcanoles sonimportantes intermediarios para la síntesis economica y ventajosa del herbicida selectivo constituido por la pendimetalina. Otra aplicacion de estos alfa-fenoxi-alcanoles reside en elhecho de que permiten la preparacion de las 2,6-dinitro-3,4-dimetilanilinas que son productos intermediarios de síntesisimportante, por reaccion con amoníaco, una amina primaria o una amina secundaria.
